Athlonite:

Batman: I'd say both parties are as good as guessing. Could be things other than pesticide and plastic surely.

I watched an BBC doco done on a study by Oxford uni they stated that because of the level of man made estrogens in plastics (linings of tins especially those containing vinegars, plastics used to wrap cheese and things like glad wrap) that the avg male penile size compared to 50yrs ago has gone down by 2~3 inches they also found the fish and frogs living near plastics production plants had become nearly all female because of run off and outfall from those plants containing high levels of estrogens

Hmm I recall watching or reading something quite similar actually!

Sounds like Handmaid's Tale, interesting (and slightly disturbing) fictional TV series.

Lastman:
mattwnz: The stupid thing is that the experts claim it it due to things such as pesticides, plastics etc. But then the government claims they are all safe, and within the guidelines where they shouldn't have any affect on Health. You can't have it both ways.

I think the obesity trend was one of the big ones mentioned.

But if that was the case, then only obese people would be affected. eg if you are fat, then you risk having a lower sperm count. But I don't believe there are figures that back that up.
