Thank goodness for an early diagnosis by MRI. In years gone by, it could have taken many months of negative X-Rays before resolution. And, that pain can be constant and depressing. Will think of you when we see an early morning Wordle solution! Good Luck!!

freitasm:

Thank you, folks. Still a month and half to surgery - still working (WFH is great) and trying not to get Covid-19 until then.

Yes got the same message with my recent surgery. Get it (again) and there will be a two month stand-down. Managed not to, but grandkids are right little germ factories I decided.

What a sucky year this has been for so many people. Nerve pain is so sharp and horrible that even a sheet touching is painful in bed so I made a frame over the leg with a cardboard box so the bedcovers sat over that and it really helped calm it down enough to get some sleep.

A few years back I was diagnosed also on the 15th December and it was the strangest of Christmases...waiting for surgery in January and worrying about the future. It all seemed so surreal at the time because of the word we fear most, yet somehow you get through the journey and come out the other side feeling so much gratitude to all the amazing people that supported you at that scary time.

Best wishes for a happy outcome Mauricio. Be positive and enjoy plenty of treats with your family and friends over Christmas.

Thanks. Good thing I have health insurance because the quote just came almost at $ 100k for the surgery.

Also sorry to hear this, Mauricio; but like everyone else, glad you've found out in time for a good recovery.  Take care of yourself over the next month or so until your surgery.

Wow, $100K is pretty high. Be thankful for health insurance and living in a country that has access to good medical care!

Hi Mauricio, I just saw this thread this evening. It is never great having a diagnosis of something serious like this. At least the diagnosis has been prompt. I know waiting for a diagnosis can be very difficult. Been there done that. The thought of the surgery can be daunting too, it's not till you have face it yourself do you realise how it impacts you. Having faith in and trusting your surgeon and other medical staff is important, and something I'm sure you already know and do.

Medical insurance is indeed a wonderful thing in today's day and age. It's got me through two surgeries in the recent past that otherwise I probably couldn't have afforded. Having the prognosis you have and knowing you will have great medical care is very good news.

Your positive attitude will go a long way to helping with a successful operation and convalescence.

As others have already said you have the support of Geekzone. I look forward to hearing of your recovery and return to full health.

You will be added the the list of people in my thoughts and prayers.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family.
