Well to me it’s as if I never had any vision deterioration. So like I’m 13 again as far as eyesight goes.
The only sport I do is shooting and I can certainly hit targets and clays as well as I ever have.
I am not aware of anything I can’t see in terms of angles, slopes and depth.
I think shooting would be as good an example as anything I can think of! I wear progressives but for golf I have to wear single vision contacts. I suppose I could wear monovision contacts but I don't need near vision for golf. Progressives are horribly distorting for anything not squarely in front of your eyes - straight parallel lines become curved and divergent or convergent.
Geektastic: I certainly see nothing like you describe. The world just looks normal.
As I would expect. Your single diopter eye correction has no areas of distortion where it changes strength.
Has anybody used Oscar Wylee before? Prices seem pretty good and wait lists here in palmy are very very good compared to SS and the like
Hi
I just received my new progressive rimless glasses from Zenni.
Cost about NZ$220 and I selected the thin lenses that also go dark in sunlight.
It took about 2 weeks and was updated on progress.
The glasses work fine vision-wise and I got the frames tightened by Specsavers.
I am a customer as I have my eyes checked by them bi annually., and not fussed that the glasses were not from them
However there is an annoying tint - more pinkish from the coating that is done on both inside and outside.
See photo.
I wrote to them and they said " The subtle pink iridescent sheen on your EyeQLenz™ is a unique characteristic of our advanced anti-infrared coating technology"

why are they refunding if the pink tint is supposed to be there?
edit: what colour tint did you select when choosing photochromic lenses?
I choose a grey colour for the photochromic.
I was not expecting this particular reflective tinge.
Seems that I should have ordered just photochromic lenses. No other special coating called EyeQLenz™
Never had issues with other makes when chosing anti-reflective , anti UV coatings , anti scratch
Maybe they just want to help out as I made the wrong choice.
I've got their SuperDigital progressives as my prescription is a bit crazy with some serious astigmatism. Not cheap, and took a while to get used to, but overall they have worked well. Biggest issue is keeping the glasses aligned correctly on my face so having an optician nearby who can tweak the frames is critical.

Generally known online as OpenMedia, now working for Red Hat APAC as a Technology Evangelist and Portfolio Architect. Still playing with MythTV and digital media on the side.
A couple of years ago, I asked at Specsavers about progressives, as I have one set of glasses for work, and one for TV/driving.
Their comment was that the prescription for the closer-up section of the specs would be fairly narrow laterally, not all the way across the bottom half of the lens, so that looking out of the bottom left or right of the lenses would be fuzzy. Too see things that were closer up, I'd have to peer at them directly through that smallish section of the lens.
I use 4 monitors for work with a total width of 1.4 m, and am constantly looking out the corner of my eyes for information on screens, but I was told that I'd have to turn my head more to keep the lower-central part of the lens over what I wanted to look at. Apparently more expensive progressives would give a wider range of focus for the closer prescription, but still not that much.
They recommended that I stick with what I have now, so I did.

I had two 24" screens at work. My progressives were a pain, so I used a cheap pair of single vision reading glasses to see both screens with minimal head turning. The close-up section on the progressives was good for looking straight ahead, but not for wide angle viewing.

looking at some online forums it seems the pink tinge is a thing for the eyeqlenz from Zenni. Most people suggest you don't notice it with the glasses on and the benefits outweigh the slight tinge.
I don't have the eyeqlenz but do have the "premium" progressive option (wider viewing angle) on my most recent order and find them fantastic.

I've had progressives for 35 yrs. I always used to ask them to consider my reading distance, plus my approx 18-24 inch desk computer distance plus my driving distance. (In Australia & NZ) Apparently now ?? That is not a thing as the technology in manufacture automatically allows for this graduation between distance and reading in this digital world, therefore a middl distance is built in.
I’m on my second pair of scripts without asking and mine work just fine for all my requirements, near, middle & distance.
My partner however, two months ago, gave progressives a go and his eyes did not like them so he has two separate glasses, reading and driving but does not require either for computer work. Go figure?
PS: my lens script covers the entire glass area. None of this bottom centre rubbish
Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
