Seems the temporary vaccine pass exemptions that have been issued are some other document and not, actual vaccine passes. And as such people are having significant issues with them bot be honored.

I am quite surprised by this. Had assumed they would just issue cura 70,000 vaccine passes to the affected people, with expiry dates set 2 - 4 weeks away. Sure some ineligible people would get them, but they would expire in a few weeks anyway, and hopefully eligible people would have had their issues sorted by then.

The gotcah we have found with an expiry has already been pointed out here... Not exactly revokable (and if retailers don't eyeball the actual data like I've seen or use the app...)

thefossedog:

requested a vaccine pass this morning and it expires on Jun 1st 2022.  So not a full 6 months, looks like they have put in a cut off date

Sorry what difference does that make ?
It's not like you paid for a 6 month plan!

It makes a difference to me.  Everything has stated the pass lasts 6 months, but it hasnt delivered 6 months.

I would like to know why.

Is that unreasonable?

Seems a fair question to me.  Guess we will find out over the next few days/weeks is a Jun 1 cap is now being applied.

Given likely evolution of vaccines, treatments, and the virus itself that is probably not unreasonable though?

It's interesting info for people who are trying to guess the unannounced policy decisions behind the pass system.

In this case, the move from a 6 month expiry to a set date expiry, likely indicates that policy maker's want currently issued passes to expire at that date. A guess to the reason would be to change the eligibility critera for the pass. Perhaps people who have had their last primary dose under 8 mounts ago, or their last booster under 14 months ago will be eligible for the pass after that date?

All vaccine passes expire on Jun 1st 2022.  This has been confirmed by MOH this morning on their facebook page

Or earlier.. like mine

But at the time, if you reissued it. It would extend 6 months from when you re-added it. So give you bonus time.

thats true, I should have worded it better.  something like 'you can't get a vaccine passport that goes beyond June 1 2022'

I guess its in line with what the government said about the 6 month period being aligned to policy and not boosters.

Yes, I'm guessing that they hope by then to have vaccinated most 5+ year olds and that internal vaccine passes will no longer be required?

Why do you hope that internal vaccine passes will not be required in six months or so?  The 5 to 12 year olds are really not an issue now. There will still be a hard core number of anti vaxxers out there in six/12 months. It's primarily because of these people we need the vaccine pass now.

How do you get that I said 'I' hope ...?

How many people are finding venues or operators actually checking your ID as well as Vacc passport?

Oops, sorry. I should have asked why do you think the government hopes the vaccine passes won't be needed?
