All places I've visited in Wellington have asked for, scanned and looked at results. None asked for ID.

The Prime Minister has said a few times now when interviewed that visual inspection of the pass is acceptable, and businesses have the option to ask for ID to verify a pass if they believe what is being presented is insufficient.

Government has also stated they are funding an expanded Worksafe team, to visit businesses and work with them to confirm they are scanning and what their obligations now are.

While the country is approaching a very high level of vaccination, I wonder what will happen in January when the Australian border is opened, and in April when the borders go more widely.

I noticed the International Vaccine Certificate is good for 12 months. I haven't found a reader that reads it in the same manner as the NZ Pass Verifier does with the NZ Covid Pass.

The IATA scanner https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.iata.tpa&hl=en_NZ&gl=US&auao=false

It's for intensional travel. So link's to passport/travel details, not a checker.

Well the vaccine pass system is going to fall apart from January when significant numbers of people start arriving into the country From Australia and have no way of using the app because they were vaccinated in Australia. By mid February when people start arriving from elsewhere it will simply be an unworkable solution unless major changes are made.

In Australia it's really simple to have your international status recognised and be able to use the invididual state apps to prove your vaccination status.

Here we're still fluffing around deciding exactly how we're going to do this and at present have just approved tens of thousands of temporary vaccine passes for people - it was reported last week up to 70,000 people vaccinated overseas are eligible for a temporary vaccine pass otherwise they'd not be able to enter any premises requiring requiring a vaccine pass under the framework.

I have found that my certificate won't survive a restart of my S10+. Added to wallet via the email link, and then added to homepage.

Restart the phone, and it will be on the home screen while the phone goes through the remainder of it's startup, then the shortcut will vanish.

Repeatable, I have tried this several times in a row - add, restart, watch it vanish. Very frustrating.

Phone has both fingerprint and pin code, not rooted. I have no other cards loaded into GPay.

My father has the same problem. He has one of the cheaper Samsung phones and every time he restarts his phone the shortcut is removed from his home screen (he insists on turning off his phone every night). He's using the standard launcher that came with the phone. This is the only card he has in Google Pay. I'll be visiting him over Christmas so will have a play to see if I can see anything that might be causing this, but after some Googling I found that it seems to be a problem that affects some Samsung phones. If I can't solve the problem then I'll just take a screenshot of the pass and set up a shortcut to that.

I have the same issue (Samsung A50). Only way I can get the shortcut back is to open Pay, redisplay the Pass and the three dot menu in the top right has the option to Save to Home where I again have to reposition it.

My brother got his second vaccine back in April in Hong Kong and he's just arrived back here to have his wedding on the 18th. His first request for a vaccine pass got no response so had to make another one (somehow there was no record of the first), and it's not even a temporary pass that he's been given, just a letter giving him an exemption until the 14th. What happens after then still remains to be seen. Can he get into his own wedding with a foreign vaccine pass if it still can't be sorted in time?

It shouldn't be so hard. The pass he has looks similar to the NZ one - a QR code with his name and the dates and details of 2 Pfizer vaccines.

It shouldn't be that hard and the process should have been well sorted out by now. It's as if they never planned to have vaccinated people coming in from overseas and that these people will need the ability to prove vaccination status in the same manner as those vaccinated in New Zealand.

To put your QR code in the IATA app... you scan it from the MoH QR generated following the IATA standard?. That's kinda a scanner.

However basically answered your own statement yourself.

There isn't a reader/checker as the only time it needs to 'scan' is to load it into the IATA app. Not checked domestically like our one, so a checker isn't needed. They only eyeball it, presumably as there is a tie in to your digitial travel visa matching your passport that ensures it can't be faked as easily as it's needed to even book the travel

If you're an Australian citizen or permanent resident it is loaded into the AIR register instantly. Any Australians arriving back into Australia at present need go get this done because you need proof of this to be able to leave again!

It's my understanding for NZers that this was taking up to 24 hours, but that was a month or so ago. I believe they were looking to make it instant as well.

I'd be more wondering about the process for getting overseas vaccinations recognised on entry - the My COVID Record system seems inextricably bound to MoH's systems (including NHI) - are they planning on issuing NHI numbers to everyone on admission into New Zealand going forward? I feel like that will make immigration processing pretty atrocious.

I've been to Australia very recently and it's my recollection from the information I saw about this was it could take about a two week time frame. It certainly wasn't worth doing for the few days I was there. Plus I think if you're not an Australian citizen you must do it in Australia.

Until at least April, the only people coming into NZ are Citizens/PR or regular residents... Even after April its still unclear how it will work  being described as "re-opening staged over time"

Until at least April 30 all of these people will need NHI numbers...  and AFAIK NHIs are being generated for everyone going into MIQ as they arrive, so they can track all the testing they do...

If they are NZ citizens its likely they already have NHIs
