We had ours done yesterday. Extended the expiry about 2 weeks (18/5 to 1/6). Quick question, we asked for a "booster" but it shows in my covid record as "dose 3". Is this normal?

1/6 is the max the system was ever going to issue for. If you request a Pass code re-issue (which you didn't need to do - the pass doesn't contain ANY date or jab data, only the INTL one does) then that is as long as it will get you. You could have done that pre-jab and it still would.

And no, there has been wording changes galore around booster and 3rd primary and so on. As far as the back end is concerned, it is a 3rd one. The booster term may be changed later if they mod the makeup of it to not be the same stuff. But to save confusion, it appears it is being applied as the main term now.

It would appear venerable (and those that were well past 6 months) have had a '3rd primary' and also valid for a 'booster' 4 months after that again to make double sure.

Re vaccine pass checking, son & family returned from Queenstown several days ago.  Vaccine passes checked at every location, even for takeaway coffee.  Too much at stake I guess.

By contrast there are cafes here in Auckland that don't do any check, even for lunch indoors.  Others that give it a quick glance if you hold up the pass while at the counter but have to wonder if some of them would ask to see it if not volunteered.

It’s not law to check passes anymore, but places can still ask.

Rest home I visited today asked and as had expired doesn’t show on phone any more. They asked to look at phone where it use to show, only credit card shows now, then they let me in. Been in plenty times when pass was working.

Did some after research, and found new Covid Passes being made available 24 May 2022. To be issued these also take into account booster shots for 18 and over. They still have QR codes but will have slightly different look from previous one.

Expires 6 months from issue date.

Odd. Mine is 17 May, but it's still present and happy to show me it.

Mine has an expiry of June 1st so still there. Nowhere has asked me since it changed to not be required to eat in at places so had no reason to look till now.

The new pass is available now. Just requested it and installed on my Android device. New expiry is 19 Nov 2022.

Thanks, I've just installed mine! I think it's highly unlikely I'll need it, but good to have it just in case.

Might wait until I need it before updating, then I maximise the time it’s valid (unless anyone can see a problem with this strategy?)

Just updated mine (Android) which expired on 17 May however was still available to open.  In fact once the new pass was imported into Google Pay the old/expired one was there as a secondary pass I could swipe across to view.

A MUCH more efficient process to install than the last one.  Earlier on in this thread a few people including me couldn't get past go and discovered the Apple Pay link in the email had to be directly opened in Chrome.  This time round my default browser Firefox happily processed it.  Tap - tap - done.

Logical... but as there are places that may require it (e.g. health settings/rest homes etc...) you'd be better off having it than 'give me five minutes while I generate one' at the door.

Did this and it installed fine to Google Pay  on my Pixel. But when I tried to install on my wife's Iphone 13 from Gmail, selected Add to Apple Pay, it showed the pass and then displayed a Google screen and then just presented a blank screen. Could not get it to install at all but I am sure I got it working with the first pass.

Any ideas what to do?
