Well, that was 3 hours of my life I am never getting back. In the stinking heat with a sick kid.

I am now seriously pissed that RATS aren't available much more freely.

In the queue for getting our RATS, which was run stupidly inefficiently, my son got his negative result via text. I'm still waiting.

3 hours to get RATS is totally unacceptable. With the personnel they had, they could have processed 2-3 times as many people as they were.

Downside of us all testing negative is that this could all start again from scratch next week if any of us get symptoms or are close contacts.

My wife is working for the DHB. She wanted RATs just in case. Took her 10 minutes to get them.

My wife a GP and you'd think we would be able to get them easily, but nope, it's a total drama. You'd think we had asked for a box of live ammo and a fully automatic weapon.

It's more than a little frustrating that they are easily given out to some and others can't get them when they should be able to.

We are almost to the point of considering an approach to the black market.

It appears RATS should be much easier to get from today ... hopefully they hand them out quickly so that people aren't having to wait in queues.

Certainly, where we were yesterday at Balmoral, we had to line up. 3 hours.

It's a total debacle.

*finally* got my negative result 6.5 days from when I had my test, about 1 minute prior to walking into my office.

Sort of. The downside is that I still haven't had it and we could still get it potentially have to isolate again :)

From the Herald just now

Laboratories processing Covid-19 tests are said to have already reached capacity, leading to some tests simply not being processed at all.

My son had a cold for 12 hours. We can't send him to school until we get a covid test and a negative result, which takes 5-7 days. So there's five days off school and five days off work which would have been much reduced if rapid antigen test had been available.

I totally get your frustration. We have been 10 days isolating. A total waste of time that could have been avoided if we had RATS available.

Phase 3 will help a lot with this, they need to bring it in immediately since testing capacity is broken.

Go to your local CBAC and get a RATS, they are readily available, though it will be a long wait I suspect, unfortunately. We spent 3 hours yesterday.
