Rikkitic:

Are there any priority people here (elderly and/or with medical conditions) who have tried to get flu vaccinations and been unable to? I am well over 65 with a lung condition and I routinely receive vaccinations every year. This time I have been unable to. I have contacted my GP's health centre multiple times since the middle of March and they keep saying they are out of vaccine and don't have enough even for urgent cases. Everything they have told me is in complete contradiction to the messages being put out by MoH and the PM's daily briefings. I don't want to start any rumours here but I am seriously beginning to wonder if false information is not being disseminated to prevent panic. So has anyone else who should be a priority had trouble getting the flu jab?

This HAS been address by the PM and Health Minister,

Some areas are in shortage, and other areas have excess, these are being re-distributed to areas with shortages.
Simply wait your turn at home, - and you will be able to get it in good time.

There is not false information, (or lack of information), you just need to be attentive and listen

I'd like to see the modelling that tells us how influenza is going to be a problem this year with everyone in lockdown, and anyone coming into the country that might carry flu viruses are also being quarantined.

I think making an example of this idiot will make the jobs of security staff and supermarket staff a little easier.  A little bit of fear about the consequences of anti-social behaviour is not a bad thing.

Mandatory managed quarantine for 14 days sounds appropriate eg. hotel at his own expense.

A worry that a febrile brain claims to be governing.

Thats interesting. So they tested the tiger out of caution. Hmmm. Not normally a conspiracy theorist. But it makes you think. Is there another reason theyre testing animals when people are already struggling to get tests? Are they worried animals could be asymptomatic carriers?

How the US squandered its opportunities to prepare

Whatever the rights and wrongs of our response, just know that it could have been way, way worse.

They all got crook, so they tested them as an extra caution and in case it gives more data for the virus threat. Makes sense. It has infected some animals, Its riddled in NYC, and so much we dont know

Removed links to an unconfirmed case reported on the media. Leave to post about it after the 1pm conference.

Was that necessary?  We all saw it on Stuff.  A consequence of lockdown is that social isolation is greatly worsened.

Ferrets are the animal model being used for this virus.  Cats are more susceptible than dogs.

Keep your ferret out of your trousers!

Well the tiger is worth far more than the staff.... so just precautions I guess.

Seems they need to send the police up to the turbine.

Are people thick? Do they need a law that says you can't ride a mountain bike? and if you do, it'll get confiscated and you will have to walk home.

They should be.  Domestic cats can be infected with the disease, a significant % of cats tested positive in Wuhan, cats infected in lab tests got infected and cat to cat infection has been demonstrated.  The only missing data is that cat to human transmission hasn't been observed - but absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.  They need to find out.

Coronaviruses affect the whole animal kingdom.

They may have developed their own test which isn't certified for use in humans by the FDA.

People need to remember, Covid-19 is a zoonotic outbreak.
