Gurezaemon:
I've you're struggling for a reason to go for a walk, check out Hardcore History podcasts.
I work at home and as such tend to not get enough exercise, but these have got me into doing 10 km walks 2-3 times a week, just so I can concentrate on their sheer awesomeness.
Haha, that actually sounds like something I need to cure insomnia LOL

I want to rob a bank to pay for a PC capable of running Doom Eternal. I wish!
Got some 12 mm ply from Bunnings today. Along with a lot of 4 * 2 I'm going to make six 400 * 2400 mm shelves from it.
I'm also going to haul home some old branches that are nearby for the catios I've helped build recently.
Working from home for the foreseeable future. Daughter at learning from home (Office 365/Microsoft Teams) until end of the week, then school holidays for two weeks. Wife's finished today (at school, with essentials' kids).

This clickbait amused me:
SepticSceptic:
I'm on call, as my industry is part of the essential services, providing infrastructure support for hospitals, freight, etc.
However, in my down time, I have a small model railway to work on - it's a real break from anything techy, and quite therapeutic just working on scenery, etc. I think the glue helps :-)
The tech aspect will be learning C ( or whatever) to program up an Arduino or two for building and street lighting - random building lighting, and dawn/dusk timing . Using a 24-port PWM controller board and a bumch of ULN2003 arrays. Might yet forgo the ULN2003 arrays if I control the PWM properly. Each port can handle 20mA, but the whole chip is only rated for 150mA or so.
Already done a couple of snippets of code to test feasibility, but I have no real grounding of writing Arduino code - just play around with a couple of supplied samples, and cross fingers. Have no idea what void main void does, or init main ? Tried reading up on that, and yeah, nah - I need something simpler :-)
Please provide more train details. It looks like something good to get into for the making side of it, but some of the youtube video people are so obsessive about the running of it which IMO is a very yawn side of it.
I was actually thinking of using a whole lot of bare WS2811 chips on boards for LED control in models, that means its just 3 wires to snake around the place and lots of proven code for it.
With my family spread throughout the city and NZ with several on their own we have all created zoom accounts and are starting family video conferences on Thursday. Should be interesting.
Find remote-as-hell places on Google maps where one could self-isolate:
wazzageek: I was planning on finishing some of my DIY projects ... however I'm guessing I'm not going to be able to pop to Mitre10 for supplies ... d'oh!
Realistically though, I'll be finishing some of the DIY projects that can be finished, getting into reading some books ... and enjoying working from home ...
I've run out of cash for doing stuff around the home for now otherwise I'd have stocked up on timber already! Still, I have plenty of stuff to do like sweeping the chimney, bringing my 1/4 acre section back to looking reasonable, putting a bordered area into the front garden for growing some fruit trees, sorting through a few thousand digital photos, practicing on my basses... Most importantly - keeping my 8 year-old occupied/entertained.
Got a whole load of tools to sort out in my new shed as well now that I've finished building a workbench and (yesterday) surrounding it with pegboard and some trim. I've got about 85% of my basic tools sorted out on the bench, a few boxes to go. Think I need to convince my wife that a number of them (especially the screwdrivers) are old and sad and need replacing...
Four weeks is going to fly!

Don's Tunes is a good channel for chilled out blues and jazz. Good for unwinding.
Examples:
Gary B.B. Coleman - The Sky is Crying
Orphan Jon & The Abandoned - Leave My Blues Alone
Myself, I'm still working 3 days a week. Standby for the other two, essentially working from home.

Put 1c in a bank account. By the time it's no longer a Bethesda client exclusive, you'll have earned enough interest to buy the game and a PC to run it on.
*Grumble grumble stoopid extra client for no reason*

Les Mills have offered members free access to their online classes. I just popped upstairs for a coffee and wife and kids were doing Body Attack, lol
I haven't read the thread, so apologies if already discussed.
Under level 4 I know we're allowed to go outside and walk around the block or neighborhood for exercise, so long as we stay well away from everyone else and don't go anywhere like a playground and touch things.
Are we allowed to go natural places like Wilton Bush in Wellington, which is basically bush with tracks? The main track is wide enough that if someone else is coming the other way you can stay well away from them. There are many similar places around Wellington, including one a few minutes from where we live.
"Stay home" is good advice, but with a toddler going crazy an occasional trip out would help everyone's sanity. We've never purchased outside equipment like slides and such as we always go to parks, so we don't have much for our toddler to do outside. However, I want to ensure we obey both the letter and the spirit of the isolation policy.

Most advice I have seen suggests you could but should ensure that you remain at least 2 metres from anyone else you encounter.
"Julie Pickering, Auckland Council's head of operations for community facilities, said parks remained open so people could get exercise and fresh air, as long as they practised isolation and safe social distancing.
"However, buildings, playgrounds and all other facilities in our parks are closed and people should stay away from these."
