Jase2985:

My question is what will happen when the 5-11 year olds start getting vaccianted? how will they get their vaccine records and proof of vaccination etc? given they likely dont have email, real me or any form of photo ID

I've asked this question around but no real good answer. As a parent I could create an account for my kid (who's got a passport) using either my email or their own email address though. Accounts are only allowed for 16 years old and over.

I just signed up, only for the fact of getting it done for when I might need the passport. I already have the proof of vaccination letter.

The process was relatively painless using RealMe. However when you go back to log in at a later time/date, it uses RealMe to log you in and that's a bit clunky IMO as it takes you back to the RealMe site to sign in there and then back to the MOH site.

The log page is set up in such a way that you don't immediately see the RealMe log in option as the email address and password option is front and centre. For me at least I wasn't expecting to have to use RealMe each time I logged in and it wasn't until I started off down the email/password track that I realised I didn't have a password and then noticed the RealMe option.

I've asked the same, along with others, a couple of pages back. Miss 15 has nothing other than a birth cert currently.

Interesting Freitasm that it's only 16+ that can create an account - does this mean that under 16s will be exempt from proving they're vaccinated?

Edit: I should have searched a bit better.

I received an email from Vaccine.covid19….

In it was

For those aged 12 to 15 who require proof of vaccination for overseas travel only a confirmation letter can be requested from the Ministry of Health.

Work is underway to support those who don’t have access to identity documents (including those 12-15 years old), people who aren’t vaccinated for medical reasons, and people who were vaccinated overseas.”

Looks like they are trying to come up with a solution for people under  16, but haven’t come up with it yet.

I’m not sure how the email address’s would work, as I thought they only allow one email address per person at present.

I got this email last night from the Ministry of Health.

...

Has anyone else received one of these?

I got that email yesterday too. I signed up via Real Me a few weeks ago when it first became available, I remember the sign-up went smoothly and I don't think I ever provided them with my email address.

So far I've just ignored it. I did a quick check to see if I could still get into the website and it was working fine.

I'm unclear on why the two other dates present in the QR are not revealed.   Is this a privacy thing regarding a "Public Pass"?  I'm also wondering how the expiration date will be determined and if that can change.

The context is for use for an employee or similar who will have daily access to a site.

An invite. Closing soon and someone posted here (or the main covid thread) that MoH is asking people to register now for MyCovid as this will be out soon so better have an account ready.

Just respond to a few folks posting on here in regards to ages.

My understanding is the MoH site will be dropping the date to 12 for direct registrations and RealMe already supports 14.

In regards to how you will be verified I didn't find that out, if you have a passport then you should be fine. As that is what I am doing right now with getting my children who are between 12 and 18 to be identity verified with RealMe using their passports and the liveness check online, and waiting for that to complete. I think considering the vast majority of <18 don't have a passport it is going to be an interesting journey onboarding them. My only thought is perhaps schools will be leveraged to verify identity or it will be offloaded to parents to sign on their behalf using their identity.

I can see it being a cluster to begin with and I hope it beds down quickly.

nbf and exp are standard OAUTH / OpenID Connect values, and yes they are embedded in the QR so anyone can read both. The printed PDF has the expiry date.

https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc7523

UTC Seconds since 1970 in decimal form.

"nbf":1300815780,
"exp":1300819380,

The pass is good for 6 months when it is issued as of todays date when I got mine issued to me not based on the date when I had my last vaccination. This is based on the assumption you were double vaccinated at that point so in theory by then either we will be getting a booster or MoH has decided that you are still ok and let you re-issue the cert.

So going forward I can see employers needing to store status of Employee ID = Expiry Date. And then 1 month beforehand asking what is going on. Which is going to be some fun in the compliance space.

When I get to My Covid Record, I get an info bar across the top
The My Covid Record url has been updated. You can continue to use My Covid Record here. Please update any bookmarks you may have.

But to what? #&*^*&^!
The www.health.govt.nz page entitled "My Covid Record: Proof of vaccination status" has a big button "Visit My Covid Record", which on hover shows as https://app.covid19.health.nz. But it redirects to https://mycovidrecord.health.nz/, which gives the message above.

At this stage it's going to be March at the earliest before they're vaccinated. That's plenty of time to work out a solution - and there could well be a scenario (but it's probably highly unlikely at this point) that we're over using vaccine certificates by then.

To the one they all redirect to. https://mycovidrecord.health.nz/
Which becomes the primary and others will expire. Just like the beta.app did.
