Hope all goes well for you Mauricio.
This thread had me request my Dr to add a PSA test for my next blood works.
Its the false positives that I am anxious of!
PET scan results confirm the cancer is contained, not having signs of it in other parts of the body.
Surgery coming up soon. I will be offline for a few days next week.

Good news about containment, you must feel very relieved.
A lot of people reassess their goals and make changes to their day to day lives after a health scare. The value of each living moment becomes clearer and those close to us more important. It’s as if we need this slap to bring home what’s really meaningful.
I hope you get through this gently and attain some peace after all the stress. Take it easy and promise yourself and yours some special treat for when it's all over. Go well.

I agree, but then you realise the mortgage still has to be paid. Dinner still has to be cooked. The house still needs to be vacuumed. Etc. :(
Somehow I have missed this discussion. I just want to add my best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery.

Robotic Urology Surgery - Wakefield Hospital
I had the robotic surgery to remove my prostate by one of the chaps in the link 18 months ago. Pretty much everything is back to ‘normal’ now. You will be in good hands. All the best.
Glad to see everyone talking openly and honest. My stepdad was one of those "she'll be right" kind of guys. Coming up to two months ago, my Mum noticed his glands on the side of his neck were up and he was having some trouble swallowing food. So with the first visit to the dr in 11 years he got the not so good news "you need to go to the hospital for a scan, tomorrow".
After decades of smoking and drinking, it has all caught up with him. Growths in the larynx, lymph nodes and lungs. Since it has been so long and progressed too much there is no chance to remove it all with surgery. Thursday last week we got the devastating news that he has only got 12 to 18 months with radiation and chemo. He had a pre treatment CT yesterday, with another shocking blow, the throat is almost closed over. He is now harder than ever to understand when talking, along with a constant wheeze due to constriction of the airway.
Plain and simple fellas - if something is not right or it doesn't seem right, it probably isn't. Your health is your biggest asset and no amount of money can buy good health. So for the sake of yourself and family, go get checked. Like many of you mention, it's better to get checked and find out there's nothing wrong, than find out you are a few months or even weeks too late.
Thinking of you all who are or know someone going through a battle, never give up!
Whoa, @halper86, those are some devastating news. I hope you folks find a way to remain strong.

That’s an awful prognosis @halper86 What a horrible way to end ones days being unable to speak with those closest to you plus the misery and suffering involved till it’s finally over
When you go to a function at the Cancer Society you’ll note they never serve alcohol, because they know. Research has clearly shown there is a strong connection to cancer. One of the staff was discussing the other day about the huge influx of young people under fifty getting cancer. That alone should worry people.
The surgery went well. Staying in the hospital a couple of nights. Had dinner, so it must be ok.

The menu had good choices and I decided on pork sausages with pumpkin and potato mashes, peach and apple crumble, Schweppes lemonade.
