We are very sorted for simulating takeaways at home. Freezer full of venison, fish, crayfish, shellfish and a bit of duck. I'm in the habit of making and freezing meals anyway, as life can get very busy at short notice.

A few of my favourite takeaway places do 'cook at home' retail and I've been slowly accumulating pies, dumplings and curry sauce since it appeared to me things would go pear shaped.

I work in essential industry. I can honestly say this is the most difficult time I have ever worked through. No time to cook. Even sleep is limited/difficult. Laundry situation is getting dire. Getting my flu-jab today. Should have some side effect symptoms tomorrow that keep me away from work for 72 hours.

Something I don't understand ... My local dairy and my local service station both do takeaways. Both will stay open but will they be allowed to sell takeaways? I don't plan to buy (the paper wrapping is high risk IMO), I'm just curious.

I think it works that they aren't allowed to serve/sell you food prepared on site. I am not sure if that excludes pre packaged pies they reheat.

Kind of what I thought. Does that apply to the supermarket - they prepare all sorts on site - e.g. hot chickens.

Takeaways are not allowed - regardless of the establishment is open for other services. There's a real risk in food preparation.

That's kind of where I landed (regardless of law). I couldn't see how the wrapping packaging could be safe.

Make's some vegetables (e.g. lettuce discouraging). Picked/packed by hand and eaten raw ...

My father said Pak n' save in Christchurch were still selling hot chickens yesterday.

Also think about the deli/bakery, they're still preparing this stuff even if it's not hot. Isn't hot food likely to be safer due to the heat?

I am surprised how little I feel like cooking. I imagine it's just the fatigue after the last few weeks and not wanting more pressure, but I can barely be bothered. Hopefully, things settle, I had a long long list of stuff to cook.

Today I might have helped bury a body in exchange for KFC :) Strange since I don't usually eat a lot of it.

A few years ago the original Kentucky Fried Chicken recipe was published online. This is the recipe that Colonel Sanders made his famous chicken with, it is not the recipe that is currently used. However it still tastes like KFC to me. Anyway I copied and pasted the recipe and saved it in my Google Drive. For a small fee I can make it available to you.

No, just kidding, here it is.

I’ve made it a couple of times, never bothered deep frying it, instead I roasted the chicken in the oven. The kids still scoff them up.

I believe the taste changed significantly when the deep fry processes changed from hydrogenated veg fats to cheaper soy based fats.1980's? KFC lost it's taste and crispyness. It's soggy facsimile.
But will still chow down on occasion.

You can get pies from Z,they are considered essential.
