freitasm:
I am OK folks. Thank you... Lying in bed until Wednesday then leaving hospital on Friday.

Back to sleep now.

Great! You are past the risky stuff now so we look forward to hearing about your recovery steps.

All the best, boss.

Hi folks. This morning we put the bed at 45 degrees and after a couple of hours moved up to 90 degrees. A physio came around after lunch and I got out of bed for the first time in six day, for a five-minute walk around the room.

I will walk around another two or three times today and if all good will be discharged tomorrow. Then another couple of weeks of low activity at home.

No pain in general but some while walking. The surgery site itself is pretty good.

Good service here and the nurses are doing a great job.

freitasm:

The MRI showed a tumour around my spinal cord. The specialist referred me to a neurosurgeon, who requested another set of MRI and CT scan to see if there are any other tumours.

The good news is that there is only one tumour and the neurosurgeon thinks it is not (or at least those types aren't usually) malignant.

Absolutely Bloody Fantastic.

Any word on the latest pathology of that nasty tumour ?

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

The pathology results should be available next week.

Hi folks.

I hope you are all doing well. Another update here.

I am sitting in front of my computer for the first time since 25 January - two weeks!

Up until a couple of days ago my shoulder/neck would get tired and painful after being up for 30 minutes. This is now getting better and I can properly sit (my chair has good lumbar support) but still not for long stints. I feel tired and need to go back to bed after an hour or so.

Pain levels are minimal, only really feeling something on my back when rolling in bed from one side to another. Still have another two weeks of sick leave, and planning to use it all to get better.
