Reinstalling NZTracer is what introduced it to mine.

However, since flushing the google play services store data - this is what has the Bt addon attached (Play services was consuming ~30% of battery each time I kicked off some background updates despite turning BT tracing off initially)

So far touch wood it has not.

It seems to drop your smartphone relationship with it. And some google settings. But it's worth a shot.

That is a real nuisance. I was hoping to update my mother's iPhone 6 to get the bluetooth tracing working.

But does mother want the government tracking her?? 😀

No need to worry about that. Mother is in love with Dr Bloomfield so she will do whatever he says, even if it means learning to use a computer.

Keep scanning folks. I have been to a couple of different shops and supermarkets the last couple of weeks and observing the scans - not many going on.

My partner and I have been noticing this for several months now, not just weeks.

People now believe that because we have supposedly locked up our boarders SOLIDLY therefore we are safe so why my bother scanning - They are WRONG ❗️❗️ We are humans therefore we are prone to error.

The government needs to do a solid and steady print and broadcast media campaign.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

If an 'OMG we're 10 days behind tracing' appearance in Victoria isn't enough of a wakeup. Not sure what is. But not enough Kiwis look past our own borders to see the position is just not 'normal'

Sure have dropped off the campaign. But at the same time, there's more going 'why bother' than agreeing every time they do a sponsored ad push. Mocking the current 'save summer' campaign like no tomorrow.

Still looked at funny for taking the time. Apparently hinders others lives if near a door and too close to ones bubble to slip past.

Hopefully the devs are still addressing the slow open and scan rate across the board during this period. Still not improved (on my device at least)

For those who are interested we have posted our Android devices in use - hopefully this will help others targeting Android devices for their apps, we think this is probably the most comprehensive dataset publicly available in NZ. https://github.com/minhealthnz/nzcovidtracer-data/tree/main/android-devices We are also looking to publish our daily stats here too. Sweet, that list is an excellent way to find out if a family members device can work/has been got to work.

Very handy for us technilogical folk that have to support our family & friends.

Seems there was an api issue experienced with similar key issues overseas recently

With recent play store and location data resets to fix bugs with maps and locations, it appears something around tje EN api broke in the process.

I had BT as a kind of manual on/off for packed locations visited after the usual keys issue returned and wouldn't leave. So went to check current status -

EN has.. died. Oops. App thinks phone is incompatible. Exposure notification setting found using search, but won't open. And settings - google - services no longer lists it.

It's an awkward one to get back, as you can't do a flush of play services or revert to original version to let it update to one including it as it thinks it's up to date already

Just a word to the wise, that it appears it can be broken despite being heavily integrated

Got an interesting progress bar notification last night when I picked up my phone at around 7pm - 'Checking exposure tokens' which then disappeared.

Regular or related to the Northland outbreak?

Regular. the API is designed to do it 2, a day (or app specified diff)

Me too. First time I'd ever seen my phone do that since installation. Gave me the heebie jeebies until it went away.

I didn't see that message on my iPhone, and Settings/Exposure Notifications/Status/Exposure Checks doesn't list any. Hmm...

Been out and about in my local town, Pukekohe, a few more people than usual scanning QR codes.
