That's probably correct. It's a daft requirement. What does it achieve?

I test very time I go to and come home from work. I don't see the point of logging negative tests. Logging those doesn't achieve anything IMO.

I couldn't cope with that. Just the ones when I am feeling meh leave my nose feeling all torn up. Mind you I did see one of the people at work just spinning the swap around in place and thinking that's what the instructions meant by going in a circular motion so 🤷‍♀️ that most are probably done improperly.

A couple of the guys at work haven't reported their positive tests.

After seeing how many intrusive phonecalls and texts people that have logged positives get, I can understand why. They said there were 14 SMSs when they turned their phone back on after turning it off to stop the calls so they could sleep.

1 txt message as a household contact and one txt message when i went positive. The one when i went positive i logged about 930pm and didn't receive it till the following morning.

Expect to see another one near day 7.

I do wonder how many of these 'ive heard..' actually are, or just 'feel like'

Given everyone was complaining of the opposite (and still do) at how long the initial contact can take
Can only assume there's still people ignoring the various calls/instructions as not 'contact book' so are soon escalated.

I can assure you I don't do it because I enjoy it.

Having now had a throat swab test alongside a number of the nasal ones I can definitely recommend the nasal ones. If you want to know what the throat one is like, try sticking a finger as far as you can down your throat for about... well it felt like hours but was probably more like ten seconds, scratching the back of your throat as you do so.

Was lying in bed this morning experiencing difficulty breathing and having to cough occasionally.

Eventually the cat got the hint and got off my chest.

So it was Catvid 22 you were experiencing then?

Having suffered from bleeding noses all my life, I was interested to see on the instructions for our RAT's that they aren't recommended for people with this complaint.

Probably have to shove it down the back of my throat if I need to test? That won't be fun!

I never thought of that; I have haemophilia (hemophilia?) which means I can have trouble with blood not clotting and as a result have never been able to follow the traditional advice for how to deal with a bleeding nose.

One of my nostrils always seems to be 'this close' to bleeding without any external help (think finger) so having something rammed up there and given a good wiggle might just be enough to set it loose.

I'm just back at work after a week of isolation with COVID. For me it was like a mild/medium cold with a bit of a sore throat and minor headache. Nothing major, but being double-jabbed and boosted I couldn't say if it might have been worse for me.

I first tested following the instructions (nose only), and the positive line was so faint I didn't even notice it (my partner did when she looked  REALLY close under a lamp).

Did a second test a couple of hours later swabbing tonsils then nose - bright red positive in less than a minute.

I just looked at our approved RAT list. Didn't realise we don't have any saliva tests. Seems an oversight. These are certainly approved on the Australian website and would be useful for kids as well as adults for whom it's not recommended to do nasal swabs.

On a personal level I've always swabbed throat and both nostrils. More sample the better I figure. I mean you're testing because you want to know if you have covid.
