Stu1: How long do you wait to end isolation? I am able to work from home so work isn’t an issue at the moment
Wait till you feel well, then do 5 days of strict high grade mask wearing when out is the USA's CDC's advice. Make that mask a N95 / p2 /kn95, that seals to your face.

Stu1: 2 weeks of Covid hell , the family got it really bad especially the kids. Funny enough they came out of isolation 4 days before us. Last day of isolation for me today still testing positive and feel like crap. Apparently I am free tomorrow as I don’t need to show a negative test to finish isolation , I don’t find that sits with me well , there are many medical professionals stating that there is still enough of the virus after 5 to 7 days to be infectious. How long do you wait to end isolation? I am able to work from home so work isn’t an issue at the moment
its 7 days and 24h symptom free so if you still have symptoms keep adding days to your isolation
That's why I am reluctant to jump on a bus. You can imagine how many people with coughs, sneezes and sniffles are going around just because "I've done my isolation, I am good" must be around.
I still think if one has symptoms, there should be no reason to leave home.

you dont need to test to get out of isolation, so i dont know why you are bothering to test, its 7 days minimum and 24h symptom free. so if you still have symptoms you cant legally leave isolation as you put it.
If you are still having symptoms you should contact healthline or your doctor as per the instructions in the text message you should have received on day 7.

This made me think immediately of my partner's large and rather inflexible employer. You're on paid sick leave or in the office. There is no middle ground. No 'I don't think I should come in to the office, but I feel fine to work from home'.

Four weeks tomorrow since I tested positive. Biggest ongoing issue is tiredness and lack of energy. For example over last weekend with the fine weather here in the Wairarapa I got stuck into the garden; ended up going to bed at 6pm Saturday and sleeping through till 8 am Sunday.
I saw my doc yesterday and she was quite blunt that the 7 days is really arbitrary and everyone's case is different and also that I really should take it easy for as long as I have the fatigue as it could lead to long term issues.

There really isn't enough education around this. It should be being made much clearer on public channels.
Finally come up positive with a very faint line this morning (day 3). So trying to keep apart proved futile as expected as we must have picked it up at the same place. Still feel ok other than sore throat for now.
I hope you and rest of the family get well soon.

Nearly 2 weeks now post isolation. Still lacking energy and I find that my heart rate spikes dramatically whenever I exert myself too much. This can be something as simple as walking up a single flight of stairs or doing the vacuuming. I weeded a small portion of my raised garden bed over the weekend in order to get it ready to plant garlic. After an hour I was done and needed a 3 hour nana nap. Hoping these symptoms bugger off soon as I have to get back into training for another ultra marathon in Feb. Not going to rush things though.

Off topic but what are you training for? I'm down for Old Ghost Ultra in February. Must be that or TUM in February?
Back on topic. So many of my work colleagues have tested positive in the last 2 weeks it will only be a matter of time. But alas I'm stuck at home with a sunius infection.
