Moron at work came in sick yesterday after a negative on sunday. Went to prove they didn't have it in among their sniffling and coughing and got a positive so yelled at to go outside. Will probably end up with it because of them being inconsiderate and coming in when obviously sick.

Here we go again.
I get home last night my son is sneezing and sounds congested. By 7pm he wasn't great, but just nose. Tested negative by RAT and my wife tested negative by RAT this morning as she has to go into a place that requires a test immediately prior.
Today he was woken and has a sore throat as well. We called in and 4 kids from his class-tested positive overnight, though he has been masked the entire time at school so who knows? He is gutted as he had a birthday weekend planned this weekend which now is unlikely to happen, and it now makes it 3 weekends in a row that Covid has disrupted birthday plans in our family!
He is most upset he won't likely be at school the rest of the week as his teachers (2 of whom are home with family cases of Covid) had planned a fantastic fun last few days of term.
We are short-staffed at work, and now if he tests positive (which seems more than likely) I'll be home for a week.
There are a heap of colds and flu going round at the moment. I spent the weekend sure that I had finally caught it but several RAT tests and getting better Sunday night proved me wrong.
Neither of my kids nor myself have caught it yet despite me being almost constantly exposed to it on a daily basis and my wife having had it.

Yip, son (9) had half his class away for most of last week with combination of COVID/Flu/colds....
He had spent the pervious week off with Cold/Flu - He and his Brother (10) burnt through a dozen RATs during the week, but not a positive in Site... Just Flu...

Don't assume anything. Brother-in-law thought the family had a cold after several negative RATs done, only to start getting positive on day 3 or 4. So if you feel sick, it doesn't matter if it is a cold, flu or covid-19, get some timeout.

Still testing negative.
Think my luck with avoiding Covid may have just run out. My workmate just returned from holiday in Vietnam and back at work yesterday and today, we went for a drive to visit a remote office and on the way back asked to be dropped home as he wasn't feeling 100%. Once back in the office I got a call on Teams from him saying he just had a positive RAT test.
Now I wait for symptoms...
Today is day 6 for me. Still bad cough, croaky voice and quite blocked up. Not as headachy as the first few days though. Cough seems to be at it's worst first thing in the morning and in the evening. Technically allowed out on Friday but not planning on going anywhere until I feel properly better. The worst was probably days 2-4 with headache and changing temperatures (going from absolutely freezing one minute to roasting the next etc). I seem to have kept some smell and taste though even if not 100%.
My wife has had it a bit worse due to having asthma, and she lost all smell and taste pretty much straight away. Technically she was allowed out yesterday as her positive test was 3 days before mine but still not feeling well and she did another test yesterday to check and it still said positive. So she's having a second week off work (works in healthcare with vulnerable elderly patients so best to be on the safe side).
There must be so much of it around because there's nothing really to stop people doing whatever they want. I expect there are plenty of people still sick with symptoms but out and about and on buses/trains etc because "I've done the 7 days."
My luck may have run out now as well. I'm working from home today (and possibly the next few days) as my partner has had a weak positive this morning. She's had a cough for a few days but that's about it so far. My test was negative. We repeated the tests with a little more care and got the same results.

As a parent I'd be more than happy to do these on a Teams or Zoom call...

You aren't zooming these meetings? Our school stopped face-to-face Parent-Teacher meetings more than a year ago.
I don't find them nearly as effective, but I can understand why.
