JaseNZ:Could they not use the emergency cell phone alerts so people know this is happening ??
Edit : They must have read my post.
Panic buying at supermarkets has started allready. Its been only an hour ?
I heard a rumour that Duty Free was never locked down properly with new arrivals wandering through there.
Wait for the backlash, its-a-coming . Many wont put up with another extended lockdown, the last time so many
were breaking the spirit of the lockdown.
ockel: Why midday tomorrow? Why give people the time to congregate?
If MOH are serious it should be from midnight tonight or from immediate effect.
My laptop is at school. I can't remote teach without it (easily).
I am sure there are many others like this.

the good thing is that it is 4 people from the same family and by the sound of it the same household.
Not good. They didn't spontaneously create it. It came from elsewhere in wider Auckland.
that was said by Michael Baker, on the news a short while ago, so good.
Common sense is not as common as you think.
Oh I just got the cellphone alarm too, so that works. ( I'm in Auckland )
The 3 days , seems to be a hint that it might be related to announcement all border/hotel staff being immediately tested.
If they can quickly ID source, and be sure that's it we might escape the full 14 day thing, but if we have to I suppose thats it.
Anyway unlikely we will know much more till usual time tomorrow afternoon.
Sleep well , good luck to all.
Well we know what to do , so just get it done and back to nirvana as soon as we can.
Its not like any of us like morning rush hours, afternoon rush hours , so working from home if we still have a job.
More room for those that have to go to their workplaces to make their day nicer.
Edit: Location disclosure
Is the alert just in Auckland?
Didn't get it in Christchurch on i7.

A lot of people won't know of this - no news, already in bed, whatever. They would go to work tomorrow morning - for people who can work from home, this means grab your laptop and get out.
This.
Means those who don't get the announcement aren't breaking the law when they drive to work tomrrow.
Also allows those staying away from home tonight to get home.
And allows people to swing by the office to grab laptops, screen's etc. Or to make jobsites safe for lockdown.
Relatively small numbers of people will be doing the above. Most people won't bother to commute for half a day at work.
Not likely many people will hold large gatherings between 9:30pm Tuesday & Noon on Wednesday.
freitasm:
Go harder on anyone coming into the country now - fancy hotels? Yeah, expect even less.
I get people are scared and this is the last thing they want. But I don't see how punishing returning kiwis helps. Agree with isolation and agree with a charge if its a temporary visit, but it's to help keep the country safe, not a punishment.

The alert went nationwide as per screenshot (in Wellington).

Partner has an operation at 12 noon tomorrow. Does this mean I am going to have to wait 4 hours in the car for the operation to be done?
Will ring them in the morning to be sure, but just thought somebody might know what level 3 will mean for partners waiting for a patient.....
bang on 12 same time as their operation.
