I got a sample of Sipreme a couple of weeks ago, but only got around to trying it last week.

You really do need a 2 litre bottle as I found out with a 1.8 litre bottle which only just managed to fit the full amount.

I don't have a blender at home so I mixed in in the bottle the good ol fashioned way in two parts.

Unfortunately I don't have a funnel at home so getting the mixture into the bottle was painful until I made a cone out of baking paper to assist. I wish there was some more information/directions with the sample as there was only a small note with limited info.

My flavour was pink so the mixture was light pink in colour after water was added.

I made the product up the night before and took a few tiny sips and the flavour initially didn't seem too bad. It wasn't awesome tasting but I didn't want to throw up or anything or give up on the experiment.

I put the completed mix in the fridge and went to bed.

First thing in the morning around 7:30am I took out my breakfast and consumed two large glasses of the stuff (probably 1/5 of the mixture). It still didn't taste that bad, but consuming such a large amount I found the flavour to be very average and not particularly appealing. It wasn't something I would look forward to consuming but again not an offensive flavour either. It would be similar to a strawberry flavoured milk heavily watered down with grainy and malty stuff.

Given that I only hand mixed the product the finished product was pretty good. Consistency was reasonably smooth, but a proper blender would make a world of difference I'm sure.

On my bike and off to work. I regularly skip breakfast so usually by 11am I get really hungry if I have an empty stomach. Having consumed Sipreme for breakfast, no hunger pangs at 11am, but I was unsure of how to use Sipreme so I had another two smaller glasses around 11:30am.

Work continued and I had no thoughts of food or hunger. Around 2pm I did find myself feeling a little light headed. I will get pretty light headed and dizzy if for example I have forgotten/neglected to eat any food by 2pm. The feeling I had was a mild light-headedness, much less than what I would normally experience on a empty stomach at 2pm.

I keep going at work but by 4pm I decided I should have another couple glasses especially as I had a long commute home on the motorbike. I consumed two substantial sized glasses which probably left 1/5 remaining in the bottle for dinner.

Around 6:30pm at home I polished off the last of the Sipreme and flushed the bottle with another 400mls of water to catch any residual mix which I also drunk down.

At this stage I have to admit that I was a bit worried how my body would cope with 12 hours till breakfast. So i devoured one and a half beef sausages and probably 300gm of steamed carrots and beans. I did not eat any carbs.

Following this meal I felt genuinely full and finished the evening off went to bed etc.

To be honest that day at work consuming Sipreme was a very productive day. In hindsight my body actually felt very light that day, it's hard to describe what I mean, but it's something I've heard vegetarians say they feel about living a vegetarian lifestyle especially when they compare to how they feel when they switch back to meat.

I'm sold on the concept of Sipreme/soylent/liquid food replacements. I'm a larger guy at around 90kg+ so if I were to use Sipreme on a regular basis (I'm thinking 5-6 days a week, two meals a day) then I would supplement my diet with a couple boiled eggs, or a can of tuna and a banana or apple during the day. And in the evening some steamed veges and a small portion of protein for dinner.

I'm keen to see how the Sipreme guys have tweaked their flavourings, I would personally stay away from Strawberry (never a fan of this flavour anyway) and probably choose chocolate (although I haven't tried this flavour).

For my lifestyle and being overweight this is likely to have positive impact on my health. I would like to to a full Sipreme diet for 2-3 weeks, then after I felt my body had settled in (after 7 days?) I would slowly introduce exercise (Cardio and olympic lifting - nothing serious tho) perhaps 3 times a week. I would need to potentially include more portions of real food with the increase in output (exercise).

Ultimately I would shift to a 5-6 day a week cycle with 2 Sipreme meals a day, with perhaps a low-carb vege and protein meal in the evening. I've signed up to the email list for notification on spot tasting events, I'm keen to see what the other flavours taste like before I commit.

I've always been interested on the calorie restriction thing (ketosis diet etc) but have found doing this via proper food really time consuming.

Disclaimer:

I have no connection with Sipreme. I don't know the Sipreme guys from a bar of soap and I wasn't paid or given free stuff to write or say anything.

Ive got a bag as well, have yet to crack it open, kept forgetting about it.  Keen to see what my body thinks of it ;)

Big issue with this sort of thing, is cost - the Soylent option in the US isnt cheap, even taking into consideration costs of foods, power needed to cook etc.
Its just convenience that sells it more........

Might crack mine open tomorrow, will set a reminder :)

Just a query.  But like Jenny Craig....once you hit goal weight what happens?  I always found the concept of replacing food with a shake/drink/substitute didn't enforce good habits required to maintain a weight once a goal was hit.

Unless it's being used like a gastric bypass - to do the weight reduction,  then the training in better eating habits would have to come later.

It's meant to be a new way of obtaining your full daily nutritional needs, so in my case I would keep "eating" it - assuming I didn't get sick of the flavour or my body didn't shut down. But I would supplement it with real food and not have it be a 100% replacement, more like a 60-70% replacement.

Have they done long term studies on how that type of eating affects the body?

Hope there is some fibre content - unless you enjoy gastric "distress".

soylent is a bit out of our reach price wise because of shipping costs, but on subscription its perfectly affordable for those in the US - I'm not sure why you think it is expensive. I'm not saying its cheap as chips, but it would be in reach of a decent amount of people.

On August 31, 2015 the price of powdered Soylent version 1.5 dropped 23% of its price both subscription and one-time payments to US$54 and $64 for 7 bags respectively. This means the subscription costs US$7.71 per day.[36] The subscription to liquid Soylent version 2.0 costs US$29 for twelve 400 kcal bottles, which works out to US$12.1 per day on a 2000 calorie diet. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soylent_%28drink%29#Cost

In terms of Sipreme, based on the pledgeme prices it's looking at $14.28 per day based on $99 for a one week. You have to remember this is designed to replace ALL your meals and provide necessary calories for an average sedentary lifestyle. $100 a week for all of your food, and then adding in cooking time/power for me makes $14.30 per day sound reasonably affordable.

Of course $100.00 a week for a single person is a decent amount if you are highly organized, frugal and a smart shopper.

Probably have, I don't think it would be good for you in the long term to have a 100% liquid diet. Would you teeth fall out because of non-use.
There's no saliva production because no chewing. The nutritional variation in a single liquid food solution is zero etc etc.

From a single days use I can confirm - no lack of fibre issues encountered.

Didn't see this thread until now but I also got a sample, and have backed their PledgeMe Campaign.

I prepared it in the morning, so breakfast was room temperature water. It hadn't sat and settled, and the flavour and consistency wasn't the greatest. Passable, but not the greatest since i hadn't taken the advice re: chilling overnight.
I downed about 400ml of it over a 15 minute period which had me satisfied. I bottled the rest and put it in the fridge at work.

When 11am came around, I usually am quite hungry. Not so, i was still full from breakfast. 12pm rolls around and i'm still not hungry. It's the strangest feeling, and i've still got a ton of energy and feel amazing. Again, like someone said above its hard to describe - but its essentially the opposite of when you eat a massive huge meal and just want to sleep afterwards.

At 12:30 I pull the now chilled bottles from the fridge and give them a good shake. The consistency and taste is much better. I down another 400ml over a 15-20 minute period, i figure even though im not overly hungry i should try and have meals at regular times.

3pm approaches and i'm usually hungry again. Not so this time, still pumped with energy and really awake. I had a brief period of acid reflux around then but it passes. By the time i leave work in the evening, i'm still fine.

Dinner is late at 7pm, because only then do i feel slightly hungry. I have another 400ml or so,

I slept well and no issues with digestion. Breakfast is the last of the sipreme and i find myself nearly wanting to skip lunch again because i'm still satisfied.

I reckon they're onto a winner.

Just out of interest what flavour sample did you get? Agree about the "light feeling" thing. Very unique feeling for someone who has never tried a vegetarian diet.

All the big samples they sent out in the first batch were Strawberry. Vanilla came later in smaller samples, unsure if they did big ones. I'm unsure if chocolate was sampled too.

Apparently the new flavours are much much better to the point they said they felt ashamed sending out the past samples. Good sign of things to come, considering it was easily drinkable after it was chilled and mixed well :D

Not wanting to be negative, but a little worried that they won't meet pledgeme goal: 10 days away to draw $9000 in pledges, not impossible but not a sure gone conclusion either. What happens if pledgeme goal isn't met in these cases?

If the funding isn't met, then your card doesn't get charged. As it happened, they had a 'fairy' pledge $5000 with a day to go, and they passed their goal. They say that the pledges should be delivered this week. Just waiting for the courier to deliver my goodness.

Just got my weeks supply of Sipreme yesterday. So far I like the taste but im only 1 day in. I intend to have most of my diet being the Sipreme. With Dinner being meals delivered from www.musclechow.co.nz I have previously lived entirely off meals from musclechow. But it didn't work as often I didn't have access to a microwave at lunch. And sometimes I had to have breakfast on the road. (Im a plumber / gasfitter so im working all over the place) And cold meat / veggies taste horrible.

Will report back after a few weeks or so with how it is going for me. Thanks to @Hatch for starting this thread. As it was how I discovered Sipreme.
