Just been diagnosed with arthritis of my articular cartilage in my wrist (carpus bones), base of thumb (metacarpophalangeal joint, or MCP joint) and the Index finger (proximal interphalangeal joint, or PIP joint).
Now that I think about it this is my mouse hand and finger. Been using a mouse since my first computer in about '88 so I suppose wear & tear is bound to happen especially since I am 62.
My doctor has recommended a cream called Zostrix which is a Capzasin-P based cream. Just started using it today so wont know the benefits for a few days yet. Plus he recommends a squeezing a stress ball for hand exercise.
My question is, what are forum members thoughts, experiences and recommendations on: NZ Green Lipped Mussel, fish oil, krill oil, Glucosamine and Chondroitin (separately or in combination) or any other cartilage rebuilders and discomfort relievers, their cost and supply sources?
My partner is a member of Netpharmacy NZ and recommends I buy from them. Also my sister-in-law who is big in NZ Tai Chi recommends Tai Chi for hand and overall body health.
Cheers
