So, I play a fair amount of squash. I try and play 3-4 times a week and I would generally play for 40 minutes x 2 each session, and in some instances I might play for over 1.5 hours. I can't recall the last time I had sore muscles.

Last night I played in a tournament, and with due respect to my opponent, it was a comfortable victory to me, with me beating him 3-0 and only one of those games being close-ish. At the end of the match I was barely sweating.

Today I have sore legs and my chest muscles around my right arm are moderately sore.

Why would that be?

I wondered it was stress, but then other than a little before the game, I wouldn't say I found the occasion nearly as stressful as I might have found previous tournaments.

I wouldn't say I am very fit, but I would say my body is used to playing squash. Even with a recent 3 week break from squash, my two hour return didn't result in sore musles.

I am just curious.

Old age?

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Your opponents game style had you moving more or moving differently around the court. Had you stretching more to make the shot.

The court temperature was cooler than what you normally play in.

The game was slow enough that you muscles were cooling down between plays, effectively meaning you were occasionally doing explosive moves on cold muscles.

Too much alcohol after the game, causing worked muscles to get dehydrated.

Your getting the flu.

1 and 2 are possible. I was actually cold before and after the game, due to the falling temps yesterday.

I don't drink alcohol, but I maybe didn't have as much to drink. (water etc) after the game due to it's less challenging nature.

I really hope I am not getting the Flu.

Thanks for the ideas.

Aha! I had brain fade. Yesterday before squash, our club was donated a defib machine and they were demoing it on a dummy. I did 30 seconds of hard core chest compressions at high tempo. Doesn't explain the legs, but lack of hydration and cooler than normal temps are probably contributing factors.
