TL;DR

Autistic blind man won't use normal scales, so carers arranges a trip to the vet for weighs because the man likes it. Creative or human rights abuse?

The comments section for once is pretty insightful! (I thought)

What is abusive about that? He wants to do it, he likes doing it. It's indulgent, not abusive.

No conclusions can be drawn from that article. Also the thread title is unfair. Without knowing the circumstances to use the term "won't care" is unfair, how do we know if it's won't care or cannot care or relief of caring. Looking after a disabled person is not easy, I know this because I am disabled.

Edit; the title of the thread has been significantly changed since I wrote this post.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

By the way, I wonder how much time his family spends looking after him. The comments section for once is pretty insightful! (I thought)

I don't know where you got the thread title from. It is somewhat accusative. I see nothing whatsoever in the linked article to support that. I suggest you review that and request a mod edit if appropriate.

Going by the Stuff article, 'a family friend' (who is also blind) requested a review of the man's care, it does not say for what reason. The resulting report raised this issue of the scales. My guess is there were other issues that led to the review request.

It is probably a creative solution to some problems encountered with the available equipment. I can see why there is cause for concern.

I thought from the headline that his PC had installed the Windows 10 Creators Update and now it was acting crazy.
