Have a loose pre-molar due to localized periodontal bone loss from a poor (high) bite and infection around the gums there, have since has the tooth trimmed down and under gone periodontal treatment (Scaling / Root planing), the infection + gum pain appears to have gone and as of 5 months hasn't come back.
Are there any dentists that people know of who are willing to perform a composite splint on the tooth to stabilize it for me (at least in the interim)?
Went to Ti Rakau Drive Dental who advertised periodontal tooth splinting on their website, However, upon seeing them, they declined recommending that it instead be pulled + replaced with an implant and referred me off to a periodontist (charging almost 400 just to be seen and assessed) for a 3rd opinion.
The tooth has been tested as still alive (receiving blood flow, and sensitive to stimuli) and has no pain or otherwise decay on the tooth itself. Prefer to try and save the natural tooth first before going down the oft suggested route of pulling it and replacing it with an implant (which frankly I believe isn't without it's own set of risks)
Any suggestions / recommendations appreciated. I'm situated in Auckland but happy to drive further a field if need be. Cheers.
