We have an under bench water filter which has a little tape by the sink in the kitchen.

Wondering, since the filter is due to be replaced, if these are still the right thing to do and if so does anyone recommend any particular brand or type over another, and if not recommended, alternative options to consider?

One issue with the filter we have is it's so slow to fill a glass of water! Not sure what can be done about that if anything?

Open it up and have a look what is in their already.

Recently saw one that was filtering Fluoride! and that slowed the pressure to a dribble.

I sent a few pictures of the existing filters, measurements and filter housing to these guys and Pete was quick to respond https://www.nzfilterwarehouse.com/

The slow to fill suggest's time for a new filter indeed.

Sometimes it's worth reviewing why the filter was installed. When we 1st bought this house there was a big difference in taste between filtered and unfiltered water. A few years ago the council did a major upgrade of the local water supply and there's no obvious difference between unfiltered water from the bathroom and filtered water from the kitchen. At the moment I have a spare cartridge ready but the filter housing is empty.

Noticeably seems more appropriate.

I'd agree with "considerably". The chlorine smell and taste in Auckland water is too extreme for me. Even a basic water filter Jug makes a huge difference.

We recently installed an in-line filter which means we get close to mains pressure for all cold water in the kitchen.

i have whole house filter because town supply tastes of chlorine, especially as i'm country lad used to tank water. the surprising thing is the amount of dirt it captures. town supply is not very clean. i have another housing here so i will fit a pre filter in at some point.

funny enough one of the neighbors has fitted installed his own tank.
