You should see the ute drivers behind the teslas then.

Will be fun to see how that goes once I have one since I dont drive like a nanna like it seems most tesla drivers do to get the most out of a charge.

Central Government sets national parking fines (Like Fire Hydrants, Restricted Parking etc, but not Council Metered Parking)

Fines were last set around 1996.

Which means as an example/s:

Parking on a Fire Hydrant (Vehicle Unattended by a Driver) 1996 = $60 / 2022 Still = $60, Inflation Calculator says $60 in 1996 $ = $112 in 2022!

Parking in breach of No Stopping Restrictions 1996 = $40 / 2022 Still $40, Inflation Calculator says $40 in 1996 $ = $75 in 2022!

I can't believe they they aren't Annually automatically increased for Inflation!

I wonder when they will increase?

The term "Muppet" also seems to the Higgins guy who just filled some potholes in the Street!

- Only hand tamped the filling! Won't last long!

- Dug dirt (Left the hole) from the berm to cover his oil stuff he spilt!

- Swept the overfill into the gutter and left it there!

- Emptied the residue in the wheelbarrow on the Street, then swept it under the truck!

Left it all there and drove away!

was testing a Kia EV today, 80k zone

spotted cyclist coming towards me. uh oh spider sense tingling ...

nek minit i see a black SUV closing in on the cyclist from the back

i slow down

the SUV comes into my lane to overtake the cyclist

i come to a complete stop

to allow the SUV to make the pass and get back into their lane about a meter in front of me

the driver was a lady in her 60s with grey hair

Riccarton Rd Mosgiel Dunedin - those who know this road know it's very narrow, one lane barely wide enough for a car, with no road shoulder

* I had quit cycling because of this type of behaviour * due to Dunedin and Christchurch drivers

This is an example of the general arrogance of parents at pick up time for Middleton Grange School!

Driver was abusive and said he knew he left the vehicle on the Hydrant when I pointed it out on his return!

There's something else wrong with your photo - why isn't this people mover covered in dents like every other one I see around?

Maybe the dents are on the other side?

A dented vehicle would not be good enough or accepted for the Middleton Grange School Run!

The majority of vehicles are Utes or SUV's! Need I say more!

Arrogance abounds!

In Australia they are called Toorak Tractors

I suppose they are called Remuera Tractors here

I pointed that out! But it was lost on her as she continued arguing!

This type of misunderstanding is common. I have wondered why yellow lines are not added to the nearby kerb in addition to the hydrant.

The cost of painting them! (From a Traffic Engineer) Let alone the "regulatory process" for gazetting the Yellow Lines! <- Believe it or not! (It's true)
