Met this fellow on the road out of Napier Central today.

Unfortunately didn't get his registration number or I would have posted the video off to the Police.

This guy came through on the wrong side of the divider and the road and was having a good laugh at it.

Might have to fullscreen the video to see what happened. Not too dangerous but pretty stupid.

Yeah, I used to have high regards for NZ drivers (mostly because norwegian ones in the big city is pretty horrendous). But a little time on the roads and you do get to see some muppets.

The video is up now, was a little quick on the draw - didn't finish processing on Youtube so the video wasn't working. Should work now.

Gehenna, thats a dashcam from Blackvue. Wish it had a little better quality, being able to actually see the license number of the car would have been nice.

Mine's a 1080p cam and just records over the MicroSD until I press a button when something happens. Then it saves... $50 off ebay.

But I forgot to take it out of the car on a 43 degree day and now the battery is stuffed. It works when plugged in tho.

networkn: NZ drivers are some of the worst in the world.

There are idiots in every country. There was a "discussion" recently on another forum where some moron in America completely ignores the stop sign on his road because he doesn't believe there's any need for it to be there, not only that but he encourages his kids who drive to ignore it as well. The imbecile claims that if he ever gets a ticket for doing that, then he'll go to court to try and get it over-turned. :-\

Murrica, Everything is solved with Judge Judy.

On another note. You know merge like a ZIP, Zips dont have random teeth everywhere.

Today i was cut off merging by someone riding 50cm off the rear off the car infront and on the horn when i tried to "Merge Like a Zip"

Has anyone had any experience submitting videos like that to the police? Are they receptive to them? Can they use them to prosecute?

Normally you need to go in to the station with the evidence to make a formal report (in writing). They should follow up. They still need to prove who was driving (the video does not prove that) but sometimes staff at stations have (in my experience) been less than helpful.

I think this is just a case of misidentified Kiwi ingenuity. This is usually seen somewhere between Cape Reinga and Bluff.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation
