You should not use cycleways.

You can use the road or footpaths.

Yes, I understand this, but in practice it's a might frustrating.

In Palmerston North, cycle lanes seem to come and go randomly on the same road - so I can legally be fine riding on one stretch of the road, only to then be breaching this the next, and this can all happen a few times within the same block.

Often there's a strip between the side of the road/parks and the cycle lane markings - I doubt I could be got for riding in that space.

I must say riding in Christchurch was pretty easy. But then the streets are nice and wide, with lots of space and flat...

I just took one from the city to Riccarton for a lunch with clients. Rode through Hagley Park. Good times.

Lime scooters are really popular in Christchurch!

I took one from Addington to South City and back today. Fun and fast, only real killjoys are against them here. Better than taking the car.

Can't be far from being launched in Wellington, there are 4 of them charging on Hutt Road near where it turns into Railway Ave

Tinker with the app enough, it flashes up 100+ near the Airport, 1 by the Stadium, 4 on Hutt Road in Lower Hutt and 1 in Naenae

I'm pretty sure I was literally the first to use one in Wellington. @sbiddle alerted me and I was already on my way to the Hutt anyway to drop something off. Took one out for a ride and didn't get a $100 return fee for parking it in a non-designated area. When I was driving around I saw tonnes of them.

Looks like they're doing a soft launch now.

Looks like a Hutt Valley only launch at present based on the geofence. Around 100 or so by the look of it scattered between Petone and Upper Hutt.

And all the scooters are now showing in Lower Hutt this morning, whereas last night they'd only show at some scales of magnification.

I found similar results at various zooms for Dunedin and Queenstown.

You had me excited with reports the Dunedin scooters showing up so I installed the app. None visible for me at any zoom. :(

What generally is the best promo code to use when signing up to maximise my free rides :)
