I'm at 40k in my Model 3 Long Range Performance ("Stealth") and it's currently on 40k on the factory tyres (Michelin Pilot Sport 4) and currently they're at around 3mm with basically even wear on all tyres. Had a rotation at 10k but haven't bothered since.

Honestly didnt think I was that hard on the tyres , but then I've done quite a few ah demo days...

Can Tesla come out and do the rotations for you and if yes, how much do they charge?

I would have thought any tyre shop could rotate tyres on a Tesla. It is just a car.

They can, no idea on the cost. But any tyre company could.

I could have done it at home too I have the kit haha.

At the time I was in Auckland and had something else that needed to be looked at so I had the rotation done at the Auckland service centre. I think from memory it was around $50? You can probably get it done for much less (or free) at a local tyre shop, just make sure either they or you have some jack pucks for the jacking points so they don't damage the battery.

I think in the US they will come out and do it on site with a Mobile technician but I'm not sure if tyre rotation is a mobile service option here in NZ.

This will be interesting. Have got a new delivery time for next Friday to pick up my car assuming Auckland goes to Level 3. Contactless delivery process will be interesting. Location is a big lot in Mt Wellington.

Been following this topic with interest and we are looking at EV's at the moment. We are based in Wellington and took the Mini for a test-drive in the weekend, the Peugeot e208 doesn't land until October and apparently all 150 already sold. We have tried without success to book a model3 test drive. The form you fill out just says someone will be in touch but no-one has, its been over a week now. Have others faced delays booking a test drive?

If you're on Facebook, I would recommend joining the NZ Model 3 group. There are plenty of locals in Wellington that would be happy to let you have a look around their car - some may be happy to let you have a drive too 🙂

Yes, FB is the best bet. There is no test drive Tesla in Wellington (yet). On FB you can also see all the new vehicles that have arrived (one of which is mine, any day now). From a range and stats perspective the Model 3 SR+ is hard to beat or even come anywhere close by other EVs. Plus you have the extra charging network. The only thing is you need to like the minimalism. And I promise it will beat the pants off any other EV from a fun perspective.

Why 8 days?

I started getting comms now that delivery is getting started in the next days. Not holding my breath for this week but definitely next for 1st salvo. Ackland will also now get started as they are now L3. It's all contactless so will be quick. They estimate 10min per car.

Yeah something funny go on. I know 2 people that took a Tesla for a drive in the last few weeks and it was booked via the website and pick-up was around Kaiwharawhara. I went online and could booked Wellington and even a time but the website hung. The next-time I tried the options of booking location and time disappeared, just the standard form saying we will be intouch. Its like it was live for a week and then stopped.

Thanks also for your take on the Tesla compared with others, on paper it certainly looks like the one to beat.
