The mid point (and I call it that now as they vary 15c within 2kms) is 2.08 in the chur-chur now. Went up 2 or 3 2c jumps just before and during the missile issues. So all that focus on how bad it is further up seems to have table shifted slightly for the better.

My local is 2.04 - still one of the better non discounted prices. (but they are sneaky and raise it to 2.06 on tuesdays since wed is 10 off and lower on thur...). BP still lead the way with the sign price of ~2.12-2.17

NPD no longer take the lead, but rather put their unmanned price within 2c of the local competing discounted Z price. (for instance z 2.08, NPD will be 2.02)

DjShadow:

Look like Gull Petone opening special has finished but they have settled on $2.02.7 which is still pretty good IMO, comparing to Waitomo who are $2.15.9. I feel for those in Wellington City where they are still paying $2.38

If you're in Wellington City and paying 238.9 you're an idiot though for letting yourself be ripped off - since Z's Sharetank gives you Petone's pricing anywhere in the Wellington region.

As of typing this anybody in the entire Wellington region could be paying 204.9 for 91 at any Z station regardless of the pump price.

I think Gull are still cross subsidising and we might still see prices rise further over the next few weeks.

In Masterton Gull's 91 is 211, and in Levin its 212.... AFAIK Gull have no port access so everything must be  being trucked south... past these higher priced outlets...

I'd have to agree. It's clear it's a pretty unsustainable level to be selling at - Gull at the Mount is currently 207.9 and that's normally their cheapest site in the country.

Of interest to people might be this report from NZTA which shows the impact of price spreading as a result of the Auckland fuel tax.

For those in Dunedin, can you get NPD Green Island to show up on Gaspy?
I needed petrol on Saturday and was debating between Z or NPD, and they weren't showing on Gaspy for searches in Dunedin, Green Island or Mosgiel

NPD Green Island is showing up for me, both in 91 and Diesel, just had to scroll a bit to find it.

I don't think not knowing about an obscure app makes anyone an idiot. Way to generalise.

It just shows what a bit of competition can achieve when it comes to lowering petrol prices. Because of Gull Petone, several other service stations in Petone and Lower Hutt have also reduced petrol prices substantially (by as much as 20 - 25 cents per litre).

I know that a week or so ago, when we filled up the rental in Rarotonga if was only $2.11 ND for 91.  Cheaper than my fill today at Z.  Go figure and it has to be imported as well.  We are definitely getting ripped.

Cost me $150 to fill up my car the other day. One Hundred and FIFTY.  I nearly pooed out a brick.

No idea what the price on the pump was though.

I'm a regular $150+ filleroo too.

It's frustrating but unavoidable...
