where did you say you added xyz features?

how do you know you wouldn't have gotten the same interest without the extras? i sold a car on there years ago with out the extras and it had similar interest to you within a day.

The thing is does that interest translate into a sale?

unless you have a unique car i dont see the point in spending the extra on advertising, as there are a heap of people on the look out for sub 2k cars that are in good condition

Nice, will keep that in mind. I don't use facebook enough to know that it did things like that.

Out of curiosity: Are there any specific pages for Auckland Car sales on Facebook? How do we find them?

Based on number of times I see reports of people selling stolen goods on Facebook (smartphones, laptops, etc), why would you get into that viper's nest?

At least Trade Me and other dedicated websites have teams of people working on safety and connections with police. Buying/selling on Facebook? Crazy idea.

You can spot a scam a mile away if you're careful enough. The people scamming people are usually also the stupid ones. They are the kind of people that are successful in ripping someone off, but dumb enough to do it again multiple times over and get caught, or display their real details on Facebook for the world to see, or leave a paper trail for police to find.

We have sold countless items on Facebook, including a vehicle and my partner also participates with the "Pay it Forward", "Give a Little", and other trading pages. You can even find cheap meals on Facebook delivered to your door. It's pretty amazing.

The only downside is the illegal items that are sold run more rampant than the scammers. People asking for drugs, selling kits to grow various plants inside and other paraphernalia. You can find the various pages by using keywords in the search bar. Some are for all of Auckland and some are targeted at specific areas. I've included a list of favorites below:

TradeMe still has problems with dishonest people. It's reputation has improved, but you just have to visit their "forum" to discover the cancerous community that lives inside. The same nut jobs that are on TradeMe are on Facebook too.
