If the car was imported (and it was cause its a Mercedes) then it can have 5% VLT on the rear doors and rear window. It comes into the country and gets complied like that.
its also hard to tell the VLT from a picture as you are looking through the side window into a dark car/through the window on the other side. It will look completely different outside. in the sunlight.
If a car is imported with factory tinted glass (behind the drivers seat), not an overlay/tint film, it can have a VLT as low as 5%. This is the case with some Japanese vehicles that came with factory tinted glass
Thank you for all your help guys! I think Car Folie has one of the better deals for a fully tinted car (around $360) with 3M Colour Stable Film, and special thanks to Presso for providing me with another forum's special! :-)
Oh and the 3M Crystalline Automotive film seemed to be the best, but to fully install would cost around $650, so decided on second best film instead. :-)
