I'm going to fix it, just needs a block of free time to do.  But in the interim I have re aligned the two jets form the washer that is working, so that it effectively washes both sides.

reading the regulations that will still be a fail if the car is 1992 on.  A fail is if any jet does not squirt water or if a fitted jet has been removed.  So realigning a jet to cover both sides does not meet regulations if the passenger side still does not work.
You may be lucky with someone not going by the book exactly or you my not.

It's 2004.  Personally I'm happy enough to have the sticker.  There is no visibility issue and therefore no safety issue with this particular vehicle being down to 50% capacity.

Mr Mitsubishi expects his customers will take the Pajero off road at some stage and equipped it with mud grade window washers.

rscole86: Take your vehicle into VTNZ to get your WoF. If they do not test it, then it is a pass. If it fails, then you have 28 days to repair the faults.
You are unlikely to get a ticket, but if you do, you may get compliance as you can prove you are trying to get your WoF.

I must say, that I have never noticed them test mine.

You don't need to take your car to VTNZ to get the 28 day grace period. Also if you cars WOF has expired and it fails a WOF the initial WOF check doesn't substitute a WOF.

If the OP is concern take your car to a mechanic and get it fixed or fix it yourself to save the hassle of potentially failing.

IMO VTNZ are a rip of $50+ for a WOF is expensive and they are not anymore qualified than a normal mechanic who does WOF's. They claim to be independent however my local WOF has advertising for local repair agents scattered throughout inside.
