Possibly way worse than a Police letter if it meets the Reckless threshold...

I had that once, The cops called me in regarding an incident where I was travelling down a Devonport side street at 35 KPH in the dark with my lights and fog lights on then some crazy lady with a big dog and a pram with twins decided it was a good idea to run in front of me. Stoped middle of the road, yelled abuse at me saying slow down you mad man suggesting I am trying to kill them..

Explained what happened and then the sort of person who reported me and they chuckled and said not to worry about it..

Ok sports fans, here you go - times on the footage are NZDST as I haven't changed the cam yet Lol, the rear camera is also reversed left to right but I'm sure you'll work out what is going on in this composite.

Tunnel Muppets

They looked fine until they taunted that car and brake checked you.

Sure they did a pull or two in the tunnel and a choppy lane change. Maybe that person reacted badly to that?
I have been known to let my engines sing but never endangering others as they did. You can have fun on the road and not piss others off!

I'm not sure if the vehicle the black evo raced up behind just prior to the tunnel exit ended up being the guy that raced up behind him on SH16, or maybe the black car just pissed him off as he pulled out behind me. Dragging the traffic down to sub 35kmh from 80 on the motorway in a coordinated move across two lanes is reckless and dangerous IMHO though, we'll see what the cops do about it. Multiple lane changing in the tunnel, in close traffic, is just an accident waiting to happen. I am kind of amused that the black car was indicating his lane changes in the tunnel as if that made everything ok :-)

Interesting - it would be hearsay of course and AFAIK it wouldn't increase the likelihood of them getting the Police letter, dunno if it could be detrimental if a whole stack of reports are made :-) but the Roadwatch online form is for stuff where you specifically <don't> want a prosecution. I've sent it to the cops for them to decide if it meets a reckless standard (deliberately brake-checking two lanes of a busy motorway may well do...). Roadwatch would probably assume if you have the plate and colour or model then you <must> have been there.

The road watch form also doesn't provide a photo/video upload facility but I dare say you could enter a link to Youtube...

Non dashed centrelines denote dangerous to change lanes and keep to lane I beleive BTW.

Just like how they change solid at intersections. From memory can be used in a charge of unsafe lane change.

solid white lines dont mean you cant change lanes, it just means you need to be more cautious when you do. its not illegal to do it, so you cant be fined for it unless its unsafe.

all they want it people to stay in their lanes so there is less of a chance of an accident caused by someone changing lanes.

Really? i haven't noticed that?.. i travel the tunnel westbound and southbound weekly...

Last i went through still picked up the radar.

must not be paying much attention or its not the camera you are picking up, its been gone since at least before easter.

must not be paying much attention or its not the camera you are picking up, its been gone since at least before easter.

He could be picking up the radar from the Northbound entry camera??? There will be stray signal bouncing around the entrance cutting faces.

Good on them for catching speeders in the tunnel... now how about those actually being unsafe inside the tunnel?!

Agreed - would be so easy to have a series of cameras monitoring lane-changing, can be done automatically using plate-recognition.
