lNomNoml: Ok thank you for the information this far, I had the transmission fluid changed at 77100km car is currently at 82000km I will go but that additive from part master and put it in.

Car is having wheel alignment done now at Bridgestone.

Will need to get new brakes also, and recommends on that?

Anywhere except Pitstop or Midas.

Any reason why? My partners Fit passed Wof recently but now I need to sort out a problem.

The car pulls to the left and I wonder if it has something to do with the report from the vtnz:

Need to know where I can take it to sort this out, she had a wheel alignment quite recently like maybe 4 or 5 weeks ago. I checked the tyre pressures and they were a little low and so I put them up again according to the recommendations from Bridgestone.

Also I am thinking of rotating the tyres from the back with the ones on the front since the back ones are in much better condition that the front.

And thank you Jase the shudder seems to have been solved since putting in the xado EX120, it will live for a little longer until she can save up and get another car.

Where do you usually get things on your car fixed?

find a local mechanic.... bound to be a plenty....  obviously dont go for the cheapest looking place in town because thats what you will get.

Decent mechanics charge around 40-60 per hour...so once you add parts, things can cost lots even if the part was $9.99.

Strut mounts failing are common... struts, shocks, CV joints, ball joints......these all keep you on the road safely.

p.s. dont bother with transmission flushes unless the fluid is very discolured.

As for tyre pressures....simply top up monthly.

@goosey was right in saying that.

Also - if you want to extend the life of your suspension. Avoid pot holes and don't hit speed bumps/curbs fast.... Very common thing I see is people flying up curbs or over bumps and you just watch the suspension get rag dolled.

Cars are an expense, Some more so than others. For 55,000KM of motoring in my car I have only replaced 8 Tires, Front and Rear brakes, twice lower arm reaction bushes, once on the lower arms, all swaybar bushes, all thrust bushes, all struts with bilstein, all springs, rear subframe bushes, diff bushes.. It adds up haha..

Definitely rotate the tires, if the front ones are unevenly worn and some parts getting down under 1MM REPLACE THEM AS THEY ARE ILLEGAL.

Those top strut mounts are a common item noted. There is actually a service bulletin by Honda (google it) stating there is allowable play in those mounts on the Fit/Jazz and is not a problem.

Go to a wheel alignment specialist, not just a tyre shop that does alignments.

Ummm... Where do you find these? Usually everyone who does wheel alignments employs the local stoner who hates his job and all the cars he works on.

Got a wheel alignment done by Mag and Turbo in New Lynn and the owner talked up the wheel alignment tech like he was an ex F1 engineer... He failed to notice two shot ball joints, excessive play with 2 reaction bushes, shot rack end and shot rear trailing arm bushes... He still decided to try and align it.. Pro tip: You can't when the suspension is shot. So that was a waste of $65 and an hours of time..

The only good tech was a man named Peter who worked for Giltrap Prestige. Would not touch the car if suspension components were worn, set everything up to a perfect spec of your choosing and knew what he was doing!
