There won't be a lot of negotiation with their special prices.

I tried it when we bought our Sportage, and they wouldn't/couldn't move much.

We didn't pay ORC, as we bought a demo (so was already registered, and it had 5000k of RUC). They did low ball on my trade-in and I got that increased by a couple of thousand (i maybe could have sold it - a Mazda Axela MPS - for $1500-$2000 more but I did not want to hold on to two cars).

There was no pressure from the salesman, I thought he was great (I can give you his name if you are shopping at Auckland Central Kia). We were happy with the deal we got, and have been happy with the after-sales service too.

I think they are advertising the EX Sorento Diesel for $48990+ORC with 3 years servicing at the moment. Maybe negotiate on the ORCs and rear floor mats? I think thats a good price for a good car.

Our salesman told us to get the towbar done privately - he said they just use Best Bars and would charge it out at about $1500 for the Sportage. I got it done at NST for about $700.

Thats really good to know. Appreciate it. Yes it is a "special price" although I enquired about price of EX back in OCt last year and they quoted me $48,990 even back then, although without the free 3 years servicing that the current special is offering. Not sure how much that is worth... maybe $250 a year?

Make sure you read the conditions, the 3 years service is for 45,000KM max - so thats 15,000km per year...

We bought a 2017 Sorento SX, at the Special RRP of $49990

We had on road costs ($1500)  included and half the price of a towbar, so paid about $50500 all up.

Negotiability depends on demand supply balance. Afaik nobody is buying new cars now so you should be able to bargain. I am offered a 40k discount on a 150k car. I'm trying to ask for 60k off... Wish me luck lol.

It was the SX model, a special edition for that year (similar to the EX).

S stands for Special RRP (normally $10k off with Kia)
