I bought a Carlinkit adapter for my wife’s car last year from Ali Express, though no doubt it was a different model from the OP’s (this was the one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004990937743.html). I could never get it to work and ended up replacing it with an AAWireless unit - which was a total dog to get working and was somewhat hit-and-miss for months, but seems to generally be working fine now (though I don’t try to connect my phone to it as switching between phones seemed to upset the poor thing). So much more convenient than having to plug in each and every time (for my wife at least!).

I didn’t have another car to test either unit with (mine doesn’t have AA, though I wish it did sometimes) so don’t have proof either way whether the Carlinkit unit was dodgy or whether the car itself is somewhat temperamental - but there were enough posts I came across on the net of others complaining about gettting AA wireless working with that model (an MG4) to indicate it was the latter.

I have one of these in a 2018 Audi RS3 and it works flawlessly for the most part. I have noted that just north of Dannevirke (I travel to Napier often) it gets some interference so I'm guessing there is something out there that messes with the Wi-Fi signal. It can be a bit slow to initialise but I've never experienced any lag during use.

I recently purchased this wireless AA/Carplay dongle off Ali after a friend recommended it (he has 2 of them) https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006645173052.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.5.383318020JJmXr

Cheap and fast delivery, about 1 week.

I found it worked really well, easy to setup and no lag issues. I have only tested Carplay but it supports AA too.

Only thing I found was to reliably connect each time I needed to remove the existing bluetooth pairing and turn off bluetooth on the headunit (Sony) and then it connected well.
