As always, have a backup plan for if the shuttle doesn't show up the morning of your flight.

(Still scarred from being woken by my brother at about 5 a.m. one morning to drive him at very high speed to the airport after the shuttle did not show up.)

That can be resolved by planning to arrive 1-2 hours before you have to, then you have a two hour buffer for a late shuttle.

I would go for a taxi van.

You don't need a shuttle with a trailer 5 pax + 5 checked bags.

For 3 pax + 4 checked bags, I normally book a cheap cabs 5-6 person van. A 9-11 seat van would get the job done for you. Not sure I recommended that company. Last couple of times, the driver has asked for more money than what the quote at booking was, and I have had to be firm and tell them they need to take the differential up with their head office. Given OP seems like less of a cheapskate than me, the might get better service from a company which doesn't have cheap in their name.

On a plan b, Yeah, with all of these kinds of services you should add about 45mins extra fat into your timeline. Given OP just has 5 people & 5 checked bags, and assuming they are not too rural, calling two taxi's / Ubers is a reasonable fall back plan. Not as ideal as riding in the same vehicle, but will get the job done at short notice.

Yeah Uber is the fall back position ~$100 with 2 kids and 1 adult in one and then 2 adults in the other... but it would be better if we can ride together and less stress around exact arrival time.. but we're planning on getting to the airport ~3.5 hours before plane is scheduled to depart to give contigency... for flights to the UK I give a lot more time for issues.
