There's a couple of 'odd' asian imports that I don't know the name of. One has a little bulge under the windscreen at the back of the somewhat flat bonnet, and the other is sort of boxy with curved roof/boot that have "ridges" on them.

edit: I lie - I think the first is the fiat multipla..

Ahh, that would be the Toyota 'Will' range I think, not so much ugly as, err, distinctive:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_WiLL

Not quite sure what they were smoking in the design dept that day, given Toyota's rep for solid but bat-poo boring cars...

Fiat Multipla - that was the Top Gear top car a few years back! Though I think that had more to do with the fact that it did what it said on the box rather than any particular asthetic values...

Great idea for a thread though

Are you talking about the ugly two door? or their other two models?

steveonz: Hey there,

I just thought I would startup a thread on the ugly cars of the world. I just saw the PT cruiser and it made me wonder why people still drive these horrible things!

Does any body else have any other examples of really ugly cars?

LOL. Nice one steveonz. Starting a topic like this on a website where the admin has a PT Cruiser... :)
It will not make you his favourite poster, I guess. :)

BTW I like the shape of the PT Cruiser, it has a retro look. Bring back the Hot Rods!

There are real ugly cars out there (Fiat Multipla is one of them), but every people has different taste of course. For example I think SsangYongs are all ugly, older Daewoo cars were ugly too IMO.

I is a kollege stoodent. Bee nice.

Can you elaborate on this? For those of us who may not be in the know......

I don't know why the OP decided to do hide it, but he posted a reply where he explains he saw my wife driving the Geek Mobile (my blue PT Cruiser) in Johnsonville (a Wellington suburb) and that's when he decided to start this thread.

I hate the Renault Megane: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Renault-Megane-IMG_1907.jpg

If they had have done a semi-normal sort of back it would have been a nice looking car.

I once saw written somewhere "Porsche Cayenne - for people who are so rich they don't care how ugly their vehicle is"

paradoxsm:
I actually quite like the pt cruiser. also like the other monster chrysler that looks like a bentley but still meaty unlike the real bentley's.

It is the 300C you are talking about, and yes they are magnificent!!  If you want a car that is value for money then a the 300C CRD is the car!!

Adamal: I had a Sirion as a work car once. They're very odd. They look small on the outside, but are very spacious on the inside.

They go pretty well for a 1.3l as well.

Maybe they should have called it 'TARDIS' then.  Oh wait, that name's already been taken.

Well I was having a discussion with a friend a few weeks ago about the particular car, and just thought it was fitting that the GZ car was a PT. Just fitting I suppose, I didn’t want to show the posts becasue it’s a tad cheeky.

I once saw written somewhere "Porsche Cayenne - for people who are so rich they don't care how ugly their vehicle is"

Which is a bit nonsensical as it leaves no room for explanation of just about every model of Fiat...
