michaelmurfy: My mum has a Skyline R34? :/

Unless its a GTR Vspec NUR with hell of a lot of work done to it, then nowhere near the price bracket the OP is after...  :)

Even better: CEO came around and we toyed with the idea to use this as a team-building exercise. Nice.

It's a 2001 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-V - Bloddy nice car and are quite rare. It's pretty-much all stock, goes fast, is shiny, seems weird my mum has got one but she seems to like it. If you live in Nelson you may have seen it being driven around, looks exactly like this:

NZCoderGuy: turn up to Lamborgini's auckland store - and ask for a test drive? :) fingers crossed they might let you :)

I'm 24, they'd see me coming from a mile off!

They'd have to have a system in place such as proof of funds otherwise the company running the Lamborghini Gallardo around Hampton Downs would be out of business.

if you just want to drive one for a bit to say you have 'ticked it off' your list of things to do, then it is probably going to be more fun to pay for one of those track days where you get to drive the around a race track rather than just hiring it for a day.

the price is probably not too much different, and you'll be driving the car the way it was meant to be driven instead of sticking to the speed limit.

You could slip them an extra $50 and ask them to pretend it's your car and they just look after it for you ;) Could score some brownie points if you're trying to impress someone!

P.S. Maaan. Wish my mum had a car like that!

Nice :)

All the R34's look damn good with a few small changes to the bodykits :)
Was looking at an R34 a few years ago but were still slightly out of my range so ended up with a Legacy GT wagon instead.... never want to go back once youve had boost....  ;)

But here I am now with a little 1500cc Nissan Wingroad family wagon...one day Ill get a Skyline :)

Oh yeah! I wouldn't mind a Skyline either, mum makes me jealous >.< - I currently have a 1996 Holden Vectra, also wouldn't mind a Holden Commodore (That day will come eventually).

Believe it or not the Skyline was a Birthday Present from my dad this year.

personally I think the unfortunate thing is that the GTRs will go on to become classic cars, and will never really get under 10 grand even for a crap condition one, and the good condition ones will get more expensive again!!!

the other option, if you are looking for a luxury expensive car, and not neccessarily performance would be to go along to one of the euro dealers (ie, gt continental ) and talk to them,

either sell yourself as a rich entrepreneur (not recommended, lying is bad mmmk? ) or talk to them honestly and see if they could sort you out with a test drive for $$ for a day of a second hand high end luxury car.

Don't think i've seen one similar around nelson tbh..Foot in mouth

You would have seen it around the Richmond Mall usually, or at the Boys College since that's where she works. It's a bloddy fun car to drive, it's one of those cars I am scared of flooring for risk of losing my life >.< - The funny story about this is Dad paid $18k for it, while he was heading out of the caryard this Asian approaches him offering Dad $30k cash.

@XPD - That car looks pretty cool, I'd rather Blue myself but that's for you to decide :)

$30k for a GTV? Should have sold it on the spot. Could bought another the next day, and had $10K change...

on beach road there is a car hire company that seems to specialise in "exotic" (unusual) cars, dunno if they do the ultra super expensive ones however :s
