Of the 12 cars I have owned,
best consumption was 1986 Mitsubishi Cordia 1.8L 4 cyl manual = 6.7L/100km (open road), and
worst consumption was 1985 Nissan Laurel 2.4L 6 cyl manual = 12.5L/100km (open road).

LOL... Ive got the 04 model - they are a little sluggish but Ive learnt how get the best out of it - matter of timing with the revs and your right foot ;)

NonprayingMantis: I pay for fuel by the litre which I think is totally unfair. Fuel should be unlimited for a set fee (say, $30 per month).
Having to pay per litre limits my freedom to use my car the way it was intended.

Not really, it'll tell you when it's economically viable to get a tune-up. I wish I'd kept all of my fuel data from over the years.
I'm not a complete idiot, I still have some parts missing.
