I thought that it might be interesting to read what other people's cars fuel consumption is.  Please include where you have tested this (city/country)

Nissan Sentra 1988
1600
Manual
City driving - short trips (less than 10km)
7.5L/100km

1996 Nissan Maxima about 11.5l/100.

Funnily enough our 2L 2008 Suzuki Vitara gets about the same as my 14yr old v6 3l.

Both round town driving.

Not a lot of difference there, the hybrids arn't really worth the extra money.

98 Primera 2L Wagon - 8.7L/100km

I use the My Cars android app to keep track. It's kinda interesting to look through the list now and its easy to see the months I was towing loads around i.e consumption goes up to 10.3L/100km. Its also easy to see where I've obviously entered the wrong values and am showing 20+L/100km :D

I pay for fuel by the litre which I think is totally unfair. Fuel should be unlimited for a set fee (say, $30 per month).
Having to pay per litre limits my freedom to use my car the way it was intended.

2012 Suzuki GN125H - around town = 2.1L/100km. I win?

Of the 12 cars I have owned,
best consumption was 1986 Mitsubishi Cordia 1.8L 4 cyl manual = 6.7L/100km (open road), and
worst consumption was 1985 Nissan Laurel 2.4L 6 cyl manual = 12.5L/100km (open road).

Seen the one of the later MythBusters?  Bike kick butt for Mileage, but are worse than cars for toxins etc (apart from CO2).  So while you're getting cheap milage - YOU'RE KILLING US ALL :p

LOL... Ive got the 04 model - they are a little sluggish but Ive learnt how get the best out of it - matter of timing with the revs and your right foot ;)

First decent trip we did in it (Glenfield to Whitianga and back), we got about 550k from a full tank. Was great, got us there and back and a couple of days driving to work :)
