People monitoring the regos have accounted for about 130 Model 3 cars in the first 2 weeks. But they haven't been able to capture custom plates, sit it's probably closer to 150. Today, some one at Tesla said 200 had arrived in the first shipment and were still belng delivered and that 300 more arrived this week. So that's 500. The forecast is for 1,000 Model 3 cars to be delivered by the end of the year. Not bad in 4 months.

I'm a bit dubious on the 1000 number...but I have no doubts that it will become the top selling new EV in the country within the next few weeks.

Mainly Trump's tariffs on stuff from China.... and a little bit the NZ$.

Choose any colour other than white and ust one more tweak (or choose red) and it will be over Genter's threshold. 😭

I haven’t owned a Tesla for a couple of years now - has the build quality improved?

It's the policy of the 3 governing parties. She just fronts it. These threshold do work in so far as car maker do aim to stay under them. Like Tesla and GM did in Canada recently.

Yes. The build quality problem was always going to be temporary. Model 3, in particular, is winning awards all over the place.

There seems to be a big push on to get as many Teslas delivered as possible by the end of the quarter (September 30).
.
There were 25 cars known to be delivered today alone. Deliveries are happening 7 days / week. There have been at least 10 and usually more cars delivered every day since the beginning of September. If that run rate is sustained through September 30th there could be as many as 400 Model 3 cars delivered this month alone. This is on top of the other 550 to 600 EVs registered each month anyway.

At a guess this level of deliveries will be due to pent up demand, which will taper off. They're not a cheap motor vehicle.

True! Though the cars delivered so far are clearly triggering new orders as more and more people see and experience the Model 3. In my own case, I'm definitely "pent up demand" as I put in a reservation in August '16, but wasn't able to order a Model 3 until August 20th. Delivery will be late October.

A couple of dedicated members from the Model 3 group on Facebook are trawling CarJam and keeping it up to date

Tesla Auckland starting to gather delivery steam. Our delivery was moved from Sunday next week to this Sunday. It's gone from nothing happening to it's all on.
