The lack of Android auto would annoy me; I still haven’t found any substitute for the traffic info and quick accurate destination searching

I've never used AA but the tesla (if prem connectivity) displays traffic data from google on the screen and routing always uses traffic data for the fastest route. I've never had a problem finding places in the tesla, I just ask it to take me to where I want and it does. I cant remember even having to type a place name in, by far the best navigation Ive ever used.

At worst you can do it on your phone in apple maps or google maps and share the location to the car, this is really handy.

You can also link the car to your phones calendar and if you have appointments with addresses it already knows where you want to go!

Without going back through 27 pages, has anyone been brave enough to go with the white interior? It would seem, having watched multiple videos, that you are setting yourself up for heartache if your Model 3 is your pride and joy. Looks great new, but after a couple of years……

The white interior is no trouble people have been using them for years and they stay clean.

BTW the model 3 is about $15k cheaper to buy than the entry 3 series I think? You can get a damned good driving cluster or HUD fitted for $1-2k in the tesla if thats a real problem, theres several great options.

Yes, I am aware of the BMW price. I am weighing up whether the extra BMW “premium” is worth it. Bearing in mind when the i4 is launched in NZ it is likely to be $120k for the entry level M40 and $150k for the M50.

I haven’t been able to find any aftermarket HUDs that will do more than provide rudimentary speed and OBDII readouts. If you are able to provide links to some that will integrate with a Tesla that would be awesome.

Did you want a display cluster or an actual HUD?

A HUD.
Everything you linked is either an instrument cluster or a phone or obd projector.

I had already found the integrated instrument cluster ones.

Its not a Head Up Display if you can’t see it while you’re looking through the windscreen.

Oops. Sorry to call you out for not helping.
I asked for actual experiences of white interior, you came back with "no problems" without saying if you actually have a white interior.
Had an enquiry about genuine heads up. Got a generic response.

I'm trying to weigh up what the extra gets me. "Go buy the BMW" is not helpful.

New jeans can create the biggest risk for them, but people that have the white seats say that it's pretty easy to clean with a magic eraser sponge. I've seen plenty of people with kids opt for the white seats and I can't think of a greater test of a seats stain resistance than kids lol.

My personal issue with the white interior is that it replaces the wood dash for a bright white dash, which I feel would create a lot of glare on a sunny day.

I had a Hudway Glass for a while in the Leaf. Routing a power cable to the phone without it causing the phone to move around was annoying, but the biggest issue was that I simply couldn't get the damned thing to stick to the dashboard.

Is there a "Dark Mode" for the display that can be used in daytime. I tried "Night" but it seemed too dim. I run pretty much all my devices in dark mode and prefer it.

Dark mode is coming in the xmas patch if you are still interested, as is blind spot camera things etc.

wonder whats in the BMW xmas update?
