Man, the fanboi-ism is as bad as the early iphone/android days.....
TikTok is just to prove “they is down wit da kids”.
Glad to see the dark mode option though.
Went to have another look. Particularly at the interior options. Noted differences from the most recent YouTube videos I had watched. So there is no forward hatch in the centre console anymore? Replaced by the wireless charging pads. The centre console is matt rather than gloss.
The white interior now has grey alcantara on the doors rather that white panels.
I hope the petty BMW comment wasn’t aimed at me. Anyway, I have decided the extra expense to get a true luxury car is beyond me.

The storage in the new console is the same as the older cars, it just doesn't have two flip doors to get to it, you now just have a sliding door over the top. The car you test drove should have the new design vs the older style from 2020.

Yes. Just the one sliding cover rather than the two(?) hinged ones previously. The ones that the car growled at you if you pushed too hard.
I wonder, has anyone gone to the trouble of fitting the Frunk auto open/close? The one from Hansshow? Looks quite useful and you don’t have to push down on the ‘bonnet’ to close it. I’m a little surprised Tesla didn’t include it when they automated the boot. But then again the YouTubers make the installation look simple, I’m sure nothing could go wrong……..

Tesla won't care if you fit something like that to the car. However, if it causes damage (eg, one lifter jammed and bent the bonnet) then they're obviously not going to fix that for free. You shouldn't lose the whole vehicle warranty though.

justinlu: should i wait for the new version of model 3 which has amd chip? anyone knows ETA?
I doubt it will make much functional difference unless your car playing video games (as opposed to playing video games in your car) is core functionality for you. And no cost difference. If you want one, order it. If for no other reason than that at the moment lead times are going up.

These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.
If you order now you wont see a car until Q2 next year so its possible they will all have the AMD system then, tesla doesnt usually drag that stuff on too long as they dont have much stock of the old parts.
To (kind of) quote Forrest Gump “Ordering a Tesla (sic) is like a box of chocolates, You never know (exactly) what you’re gonna get…”. :-)
It applies to other manufacturers as well. But in their case it’s “Due to the chip shortage your car will be delivered without xxx”. Which should be followed by “Do you still want it?” Or “It will now be $xxx cheaper” but I have my doubts.

Oh you know you're getting the best car you can buy in NZ right now, just not what toys it'll have...

Why would I post someone elses opinion?
Sorry. Should have left the “H” out.

The 3 is the most efficient, safest, most high tech and sustainable car on sale in NZ.
