As I have no idea how much fuel the car will take, and I like to minimize my trips to service stations I will always fill. Unless its a place doing prepay only and I will just get $10 to spite them.
With that logic method theres a very good chance topping all the time, running to E for enough enough times to you soon know know it doesn't go over say $109 to fill (like mine) and therefore reserve $120 if the 200 is too high
I selected the fill option on BP Me today and they took a hold of $125. Perhaps they apply $125 for diesel and $200 for petrol?
I was actually annoyed because I was supposedly going to get a 10c per litre discount but it wasn't applied when I looked at the receipt. When I investigated I discovered that you have to spend at least $40, which is often difficult if you have a small diesel vehicle

I used to use the BP app but could not use coupons from super markets etc and they always threw a $200 hold on your account that would not disrepair for a few days, was not worth the hassle in the end really.
I seem to recall BP only do a $200 hold if you pick the fill option. If you just fill up by e.g. $40 (min for the discounts etc) then they just hold that amount. Is this definitely not the case?
Yeah sorry should have said I only do fill's , Car only takes a maximum of $120.
