Noticed a new note in the latest app update. Links to URL: http://z.co.nz/fastlane

Clearly not to be outdone by BP. Honesty lane however, I note the question about 'popping in' in the FAQ and then being told to use another lane to keep it free.

Not exactly widespread trial. I've not found one on the find a station page actually enabled yet.

+ looks more convenient then the BP one, don't have to fiddle with phone before filling.

- Can't see where you put in fly buys so can get discount off fuel etc.

I don't have applic, just from looking at screen shot off their website.

- Have to use specific pump, even if in use and others available. (Guess that's what trial is for to see how it works out in practice.)

But of a catch there, despite being able to load such cards into the app.. (hidden under troubleshoot rather than FAQ)

What about Fly Buys, Airpoints or discounts? Am I eligible to earn points or take part in promotions when I use Fastlane?

No, Fastlane transactions do not qualify for Fly Buys, Airpoints or Fly Buys Offers at this time. If you would like to continue to collect rewards and promotions, simply use a non-Fastlane pump.

I'm in CHC so can't be sure, but the find a store, you need to add a filter for fastlane. And 99.9% come back with 'Does not match your search'

Ah right. The Greenlane one seemed to be the only one which did not say 'Does not match your search', yet the search has the tag: "Fastlane- coming soon!"

Might pop in to Greenlane Z and take a look in the weekend.

In that case, not interested until it includes normal Z discounts.

Not necessarily correct where we live - Auckland North Shore.

For you maybe, but for me it is the cheapest (usually).

BP is the most expensive for me.

Currently our BP is selling 91 at $1.99 (i don't do aa discount because i don't use bp much).

Our Z is selling 91 at $1.82, plus I think there is a 10c flybuys discount just now (as opposed to the usual 6c).

As a time poor baby boomer living in Remuera who hunts out the most expensive petrol I can find, this is perfect for me! The local Z fits the bill perfectly and I absolutely don't care about any discounts. What's 6c a litre when my house is worth $3m! Sign me up..

Z on Taharoto Road seemed to be the most expensive around that area.

There are large differences in prices on the North Shore alone - frequently as much a 15-20 cents per litre for 91 between stations less than 10 km apart.

Great to meet another person with the right attitude.

I often round up my petrol purchase to the nearest $10 and, while I light a 10c a litre discount voucher on fire, I announce to the forecourt that "I'm from Geekzone" and that they should "Expect us to keep demanding higher petrol prices".
