"A spokesman for Clark said she would seek an explanation from police over the incident.

"The Prime Minister was very shocked to hear about what happened. She had not been aware of the incident until The Press contacted her office.

"She will be seeking an explanation from police and also requesting that such a thing does not happen again," the spokesman said.

Canterbury police district commander Dave Cliff apologised."

Are you kidding me?  She knew exactly what they did.  Surely she is not asking me to believe that she had never noticed the police cordened off areas public are normally able to use so that she can get in her car at more convenince!!

Do you seriously believe that Clark micro-managed to the extent that she picked the location where the cars would be parked before collecting her?

billgates: umm....no one was forced to work for them....leave anytime you wish to....bartenders in New York have worked for more than 40 years and few of them now are 75 years old never had any problem with smokers.

You forget that a significant chunk of society have very little choice as to their job, and shifting jobs is hardly the easiest thing for them to do.

In other news did you know that there are 100 year olds that still smoke?

Obviously harms of 1st and 2nd hand smoking are just a lie.

Bung: Do you seriously believe that Clark micro-managed to the extent that she picked the location where the cars would be parked before collecting her?

Of course not, but her eyes work perfectly well.  She would have been well aware of the location she was parked in, although it is probably quite easy to argue that she may not have been aware there were any disabled carparks in the immediate area.  Of course this would be contrary to the knowledge that everyone in the country is expected to have that, by law, there must be disabled carparks located near major buildings, such as town halls...

Slightly off topic - this is just like the fact she would have been well aware of her motorcade travelling at 150kmh+ a few years ago in order for her to be able to get to a rugby game.  There's a massive difference between 100 and 150 - it's not something you wouldn't notice.

Back on topic - this is a thread about fines for those illegally parking in carparks "reserved' for disabled persons, not anti-smoking laws or politics etc...
