I doubt it will make a much difference

I am always surprised how busy the high price stations are despite down or across the road the price is 10-20c less at the low cost places, my point is many follow the brand not the price

The govt would have better spent my taxes funding gaspy or better still providing spot prices for consumers using gaspy!

Many people will use a work card that only works at some places, and will have a discount off the listed price.

I would have rather seen the govt mandate that fuel companies provide an API for their prices to be accessed in real time and provide historic data instead of adding the LED sign for 95. So few places sell that here that they really take the proverbial with the pricing, have seen 95 at one for more than 98 at another place on occasion (not the gull diet engine wrecking 98 too, was mobil)

Gaspy is a joke I find, so many times people have put wrong prices and there have been confirmations of them. At the end of it driving around to another place that isnt on my way might save $6 or so, and take more time so its not worth it but planning for that from gaspy has let me down so many times that I just go to Z on onewa road since that normally seems cheaper than the one up in glenfield road and the BP that has 95 around here is always too crowded.

Another thing they should have done is make them remove the BS pumped discounts that are always active but require you to screw around with 2 goes on the pump if you want more than 50l to purchase,

And they could have looked into the absurdity of having you purchase by price, but then put a discount on it so that is not the price you pay. It should be in litres that you enter the amount not dollars anyway.

Gaspy is crowdsourced so it'll only be as accurate as the people who use it.

I still don't feel the need... Waitomo have become my preference as there's now quite a few in Wellington in places that're quite convenient - Johnsonville, Tawa and Thorndon are all routes that mean I can stop and fill up without going off the beaten path too far. Their app also makes for convenient payments, and they email you a receipt afterward which is now making it relatively easy to track my fuel consumption and the rate I am paying for gas over time... this is useful.

Before favouring Waitomo I used BP as I use a combination AA SmartFuel / OneCard deal and the app makes that automatic.

In reverse order these are the last three fills I did... interesting to see the rate I paid yesterday is 15cpl more expensive than it was just a month ago. Of course there's the chance they vary price by site, I have no idea. But I needed fuel (for the record the max i've ever put into my wagon is ~55L). *shrug*
