Because it now appears we aren’t anywhere near “peak oil”, what does it matter if it’s renewable or not?

BP has said that peak oil came and went in Dec 2020. However, it turns out that the peak is limited by demand, not supply. They expect demand to drop by 10% by 2030, 50% by 2040, and maybe 95% by 2050.

So I'd expect that over the next 3 decades the price of oil (and petrol and diesel) will drop as supply exceeds demand, oil-rich countries move to sell their oil before it's worthless, and exploration for new reserves pretty much stops.
