GT changing lanes at 180kph like it's 50kph
Scott3:
- Blind spot monitoring. You still are meant to do a head check, seems to add temptation to be sloppy. (but the warning tone if you indicate with a car in the blind spot is a good idea)
Blind spot monitoring is standard across the range, as it should be.
The premium feature is 'blind spot view monitor' which I assume is some sort of camera that activates before and during lane changes.

If anybody else takes a test drive, the parking break is electronic and above the drivers right knee.
Perfectly fine once you know the location, but everybody new that drives you car is going to need to search around for it.

Personally I think the whole +ORC thing is a bit of a Rort. Given this is being sold as a road vehicle, it is not something that can really be opted out of, so should be included in the headline price in my opinion. Actually not sure if you can opt out, even if the car is for off road use, or export to another country.
Totally agree which is why Toyota are great. All their prices include what you pay to have the car keys in your hands so no variation by dealer.
That's a pretty good concept.

The biggest problem with Toyota at the moment is their stock of some models is in such short supply (or long lead times) that they don’t even quote the TDP. Where they may sting you is with a lowball trade-in offer. ORCs I have been quoted in the past have varied from just registration all the way up to $3000 for a particular European brand.
My experience of both Tesla and Polestar was they quoted a Drive-away Price. The whole franchise dealership model with hidden charges such as ORCs (registration excepted), and adversarial bargaining is tedious and stressful. I found this with both the local Hyundai and Kia dealerships.

That’s awesome!
Hope it turns out to be everything you want it be be. The hardest part will be waiting.
Still waiting for our local Kia dealer to get one so I can kick the tires. Don’t know how keen they’ll be for me to test drive it if I rock up in a Model 3. Guess I could take my wife’s car……

But ...>$70k for a medium KIA suv 😱
You can get the TCO close to an equivalent Sportage if you do a reasonable amount of mileage, have the ability to charge at home, and have access to cheap capital. It's not financially viable for my circumstances, but if they get a bit cheaper in a couple of years then I'd be seriously tempted.

Well excited!
Looking at doing the same - what was the deciding point for the Earth AWD (vs GT or Air)?

Based on performance, I'd look at the GT variant. Everything else is a little lacklustre - being >7s 0-100. The GT is quite serious money and it's still a KIA ...
